December Guest Stampers! My friends - Stamp with Gailsu and Krusin' Through Ink

Happy Almost New Year everyone!  I had such a good time with my friends, Sue & Gail, on Thursday night.  We collaborated to bring you NINE different card ideas.  I've had them each on separately as a Guest Stamper, but wanted to close out the year with all three of us together.  

Our plan was pretty simple - pick three stamps/bundles that we all have, and we'd all make one card with it.  Each person takes a turn demonstrating their card live, and the other two show theirs that we pre-made.  Easy peasy!  Fun and talking in between.  :)

Gail started us off with the Cheerful Daisies bundle.  I love her color choices, and how she used two different dies to make the frame - Stitched Rectangles on the outside, and Deckled Rectangles on the inside.  Cool!  She also used some designer series paper from the upcoming 2024 Jan-Apr Mini Catalog.

Paper measurements:

• Shimmery White:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
• Crushed Curry:  4" x 5 1/4"
• Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper:  3 3/4" x 5"
• Basic White:  scraps to die cut frame and flowers/leaves, and greeting

She finished off with some Gold gems.

Stamps:  Cheerful Daisies bundle

Ink:  Crushed Curry, Copper Clay, Garden Green

Paper: Shimmery White, Basic White, Crushed Curry, Lighter Than Air Designer Series paper

Other:  Gold gems

I showed my card with the Cheerful Daisies next.  We had some discussion because I couldn't remember the name of the technique.  I stamped all my flowers and stems in White Craft ink first.  Heat set it, then stamped over top of that with regular inks.  We decided that it was either Shadow Stamping or Ghost Stamping.  A quick google search just now confirmed that this is Ghost Stamping!  It's very cool, and allows you to stamp colors on a non-white/vanilla background.

I used Pebbled Path for my base and layers.  Added a small strip of Tartan Foil specialty paper at the bottom, and some In Color Dots to the flower centers.

Paper measurements:

• Pebbled Path:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
• Pebbled Path:  4" x 5 1/4"
• Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
• Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper (Pebbled Path print):  3/4" x 5 1/4"
• Basic White:  scrap to die-cut label for greeting

Stamp the greeting in Pebbled Path and pop that up.  Finish off with the In Color Dots.

Ink:  White Craft, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Pebbled Path

Paper: Pebbled Path, Basic White, Tartan Foil Designer Series paper

Sue showed us her Cheerful Daisies card and then rolled into her demonstration using our next set.  The funniest thing about this card is that her and Gail both used the same sheet of designer paper from the Lighter Than Air pack - just opposite sides.  We always laugh when that happens!  We'll end up using the same colors or same papers.  

Sue also ended up using some new embellishments from the upcoming mini catalog - Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots.  They coordinate with these Lighter Than Air papers.

Paper measurements:

• Bubble Bath:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
• Basic White:  (2) 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card and layer
• Lighter Than Air Designer Series papers:  3 3/4" x 5"
• Basic White:  scraps to die-cut label for greeting, and flowers/leaves

Pop up some of those flowers and add some dots.

Paper: Bubble Bath, Basic White, Designer Series paper

Other:  Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots

Sue took us into our second stamp set choice, which is the Biggest Wish.  We all love this set so much - it's so versatile, and mixing and matching fonts is really cool.   Sue's got another sneak peek at an upcoming product for us!  Two, actually.  This Flight and Airy paper and the Opaque Gems are from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration catalog.  A great background, a greeting, some ribbon and doo-dads - recipe for a perfect card! 

Paper measurements:

• Petal Pink:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
• Lost Lagoon:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
• Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4”
• Flight & Airy DSP:  3 3/4" x 5"
• Basic White:  scrap to cut for greeting

Add some Lost Lagoon ribbon loops to the back of the greeting panel and pop that up.  Finish with some of the Opaque Gems

Ink:  Petal Pink, Lost Lagoon

Paper:  Petal Pink, Lost Lagoon, Basic White, Flight & Airy Designer Series paper

Other:  Opaque Gems, Lost Lagoon ribbon

Gail showed us her Biggest Wish creation, and again we get to see some NEW things!  She's used the Paper Butterflies from the upcoming Mini catalog.  I love those!  Again, a great card design.  You can't go wrong with the red and black color combination too!

Paper measurements:

• Basic White Thick:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
• Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper:  4" x 5 1/4"
• Real Red circle
• Basic White:  I didn't get the measurements...whatever it takes to stamp those greetings.  I think they are both the same.

She's added some red doo-dads from a Christmas pack. Maybe red rhinestones?  And that Paper Butterfly Accent is gorgeous - these will be perfect if you don't have detailed butterfly dies to work with.  You'll be able to color these with anything you want - ink blend, daubers, or markers.

Paper:  Basic White, Real Red, Zoo Crew Designer Series paper

Other:  Opaque Gems, Lost Lagoon ribbon

I showed my Biggest Wish project next, and I paired it with the Beautiful Balloons bundle.  I made a 4" x 6" Tri-fold card with an acetate panel flip out.  That's a mouthful.  Once I cut and scored the base piece, I added the Bright & Beautiful designer series paper to the front and die cut the balloon shapes out of both layers.  I saved those cut out pieces and can make a different card later.

Then stamp the greeting on in the bottom corner and I hoped that I wouldn't mess it up at that point!  If I had, there's no fixing it.  :)

Open the card and you see the acetate panel.  Acetate is from the Gold Celebrations Specialty Paper.  The back side of the acetate is silver, just so you know.  I like how this overlays the balloons that are stamped underneath.

And then here we have the card all the way open.  You can see the little strip of Bubble Bath that I glued over top of the edge.  You can also see that silver side of the acetate.

• Bubble Bath:  6" x 8 1/2", scored at 4" and 8"
• Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper:  3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
• Gold Celebrations Specialty Paper:  3 3/4" x 5 3/4"

• Bubble Bath:  3/4" x 6" 
• Bubble Bath:  scrap to stamp and die cut a tiny balloon

Finish off with some Berry Burst Tinsel Gems.

Third set that we used is from the upcoming Mini Catalog - the Bee Mine Suite.  The set is actually called Bee My Valentine bundle, and comes with a punch.  I wanted to go with something NOT necessarily using bees, so I opted to use the punch that is really for the bee's wings to make hearts instead.  I also snuck in ANOTHER Sale-a-Bration item - Most Adored Designer Series papers.  

I love square cards, and this size (4 1/4" x 4 1/4") will still fit inside a medium envelope so you don't have to put extra postage on it.

I used my Stitched with Whimsy dies on the edges of the Bee Mine designer series paper, added that to a layer of Flirty Flamingo and then added THAT to a Flirty Flamingo card base.

Punched a few hearts and embossed with different folders for a variety of texture.  Stamped and punched out some of the smallest hearts.

Paper measurements:

• Flirty Flamingo:  4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
• Basic White:  4" x 4", for inside of card
• Flirty Flamingo:  4 1/8" x 4 1/8"
• Most Adored Designer Series Paper:  4" x 4"
• Flirty Flamingo:  scrap to punch with Decorative punch
• Basic White:  2" circle
• Flirty Flamingo:  scraps to punch hearts

Embossed hearts with different folders and turn them different directions.  They are not perfectly shaped hearts - a little off-center.  Pop all those hearts up.

Finish off with some Iridescent Rhinestones.

Paper:  Flirty Flamingo, Basic White, Most Adored Designer Series Paper

Other:  Cane Weave/Basics #2/Timber embossing folders, Decorative punch, 2" circle punch, Iridescent Rhinestones

Here is Gail's creation using the Bee My Valentine bundle.  She added in this cute bear from Fluffiest Friends (an On-line Exclusive item), and cut out the bees from the paper pack.  Clouds are from other upcoming new die set, Bright Skies.   Nice use of product, and Gail is the best "color-er" that I know.

Paper measurements:

• Basic White (Thick):  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
• Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (blue background print):  4" x 5 1/4"
• Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (green background print):  4" x something, die cut the grass.
• Inked Botanicals Designer Series paper (yellow print):  die cut bee hive from an entire sheet.
• Basic White:  scraps to die-cut clouds and stamp/die-cut bear

I stamped and hand-cut the greeting, but you could obviously use a die or a punch of any kind.

Ink:   Onyx Versafine, Balmy Blue

Paper:  Basic White Thick, Fresh as a Daisy Designer series paper, Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper

Other:  Bright Skies dies, Not sure what the bling is

Sue finished us off for the night with her Bee Mine card.  She cut these cute bees out of one of the sheets of DSP.  Punched out some of the tiny hearts.  MORE new product alert!  Sue used the upcoming Everyday Details dies to cut that circle with the dotted edge.  

I love this card design, especially with the use of designer series paper.  She used two different sheets here, but you could take ONE piece of 4" x 5 1/4" dsp, cut it and flip one of the sides over to get both patterns.  Love the idea!

• Sweet Sorbet:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
• Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
• Bee Mine DSP (honeycomb pattern):  3" x 4"
• Bee Mine DSP (stripes pattern):  2 1/4" x 4"
• Sweet Sorbet:  enough to cut circle
• Basic White: enough to cut label.

Added some of the new Sweet Sorbet 1/4" ribbon.  Pop all of those cute little bees up!

Finish off with some of the Hearts & Flowers, also from the Bee Mine Suite.

Moose Half Notebook

Eek!  I'm late for work and didn't realize that I never hit submit on this blog post from LAST WEEK!  Doh!  I needed a new notebook to keep track of ALL the things that I have going on, plans, project ideas, you name it.  

I get these half-size composition notebooks at Walmart.  I usually see them when school supplies are out in August.  You could certainly use the regular size notebooks, and just use more paper to cover.

Front and back covers are the same as far as the designer series paper and that little strip of embossed cardstock.  Only the front has the extra decoration.  I knew I wanted to use the Earthen Elegance Designer series papers, but that was all I had in mind.  The die-cut moose was on my desk from another project, so I had to include that and then it took off from there.

I'm not going to give paper measurements, because your notebook may be slightly different.  I will tell you that I used Adhesive Sheets to add the designer series paper.  You get a smooth, even coverage with adhesive sheets, versus Tear & Tape or Sticky Strip (red line tape) like I've used previously.  You could also use just liquid glue and maybe smooth it out with your finger before you put the paper on the notebook.

Pocket that I make at the front of my book.  Again, watch that second video that I linked above to see how to make this roomy pocket.  It really holds A LOT of bits and pieces!  Stamped with an OLD set - DD Pinecones.  I like adding this pocket at the front of my notebooks, but you could put these in the middle and/or back of the book too. 

Inside front and back covers also have the same flat pocket.  These are very useful to hold a few pieces of paper or index cards.

Last Minute Gift Boxes - 3 sizes!

It's a dreary Sunday here today folks.  Fog earlier, then it was raining a little bit.  Perfect weather for staying inside though!

Today I'm sharing the gift boxes that I made Thursday night.  I love making boxes - and sticking to 8 1/2" x 11" is a bonus for you all.  99% of us have 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock, so I figured most everyone can make these boxes right now!  Change up the colors and papers to suit whatever theme you want!

First box is the biggest one, and will actually hold 5" x 7" cards and envelopes OR whatever else you can fit.  I like the dual purpose - gifting someone a box of cards is always a great gift, but it's also a very roomy box for other gifts.  

Finished size is 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1 1/2" tall.  With these two-piece boxes, I like making the bottom piece taller than the top, so we can see both colors (if you use the same color cardstock for top and bottom - that's cool too.)

Craft Roulette Challenge #193 - Mini Snow Globe

I actually made this card on Saturday, but I had to wait until today to post it because the little postmark stamp is from this year's Unity Advent kit.  I didn't want to post it ahead of time and spoil the surprise for anyone else.  I think they still might have a few of the Advent kits if you want one!  It comes in a box, with 25 doors that you open.  You can open one a day, and be surprised - OR just pull the whole tray out of the box like I did.  :)  Anyway, I'm glad I opened mine ahead of time.  The minute I saw Postcard, I knew I had the perfect stamp and dies!

This is submission number 52 for me.

Find Craft Roulette on YouTube @CraftRoulette, subscribe to their channel, and play along when you can!  Every week is different and lots of fun!

December 2023 Virtual Workshop - Sparkling Snowflakes

Happy Saturday Friends!  I hope you're having a good weekend so far.  I just got home from a craft fair, and a trip to the cemetery to visit my Mom and the rest of the family that's around her.   It was a good day spent with my friend.

First card is one of my favorite kind - non-traditional colors!  Pink snowflakes?  Yes, please!  I like this group of three snowflakes, and layering the solid snowflakes with the detailed images.  There is Bubble Bath underneath.  The Melon Mambo is stamped off once on the snowflakes...the first one had to get thrown out.  It was way too dark.

I also combined the More Wishes and Biggest Wish sets to stamp out "birthday WISHES".  I love both of those - they work so well together.

• Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card

Second card is one of my favorite ways to use multiple patterns of paper - the Stack & Shuffle.  I've stacked the Snowflake Magic specialty papers, and cut three-ways.  You'll get (3) sheets to stack and shuffle, leaving you extras to make 2 more cards on your own.

• Lost Lagoon:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
• Basic White:  (2) 4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card and front layer

Greeting is popped up.    Add a tiny bow of Silver and White Sheet ribbon

Finish off with some Iridescent Dots.

Third project is a different take on the Joseph's Coat Technique.  I wanted pink snowflakes, so instead of stamping pink snowflakes on white cardstock, then embossing clear over top of it...I just embossed clear on Bubble Bath cardstock.  Then ink blend Fresh Freesia and Pool Party inks over top of the Bubble Bath cardstock - and you end up with pink snowflakes with a multi-colored background.  Just what I wanted!

Card front has 1" cut off the bottom too.  I cut that piece down even further (3/4" x 5 1/4"), and embossed with one of the Basics Embossing folders.  Glued that down flat.

Paper measurements:

• Pool Party:  5 1/2" x 7 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
• Fresh Freesia:  3" x 5 1/4"
• Basic White:  3" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
• Bubble Bath:  2 3/4" x 5"
• Pool Party:  scrap to stamp/punch greeting

Emboss the greeting in white, and pop that up.  Finish off with some Iridescent Dots

Ink:  Versamark, Fresh Freesia, Pool Party

Paper:  Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath, Basic White

Other:  Basics #2 embossing folder, Double Oval punch, Clear and White embossing powders, Iridescent Dots

The last card is a Mini Slimline.  I wanted a swoop of snowflakes across the front of this card.  Use ANY three colors that you'd like.  I went with Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, and Granny Apple Green.  See how I also got all 3 sizes of snowflakes on there too - 2 large, 2 medium, and 3 small. 

Paper measurements:

• Basic White (Thick):  6" x 6", scored at 3"
• Basic White (Thick):  2 7/8" x 5 7/8"
• Basic White (Thick):  scrap to stamp/hand-cut greeting

I stamped and hand-cut the greeting, but you could obviously use a die or a punch of any kind.  

Stamps:  Sparkling Snowflakes

Ink:   Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green

Paper:  Basic White Thick

Other:  Iridescent Dots
