Who else loves Christmas in July? I can watch a Hallmark Christmas movie any time of the year, so I'm all over it. I had planned on offering this as a class this month, but time is not on my side right now - so this video demonstration will have to suffice. :)
My with this week's video is to show you how to make (8) cards using (4) pieces of coordinating designer series papers.
Just a reminder that I normally go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET. This will change starting August 1st, when I go back to normal day shift hours at work. I've been working 2:30-11:30pm since last July (and enjoying it!).
If you were not able to catch me live, you can still watch it on YouTube! If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
Let me start with the materials that you'll need for all (8) cards, and then I'll break it down.
- (4) pcs 6" x 6" designer series paper (if you only have 12" x 12" - cut it down!)
- (8) card bases. I use 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/4".
- (8) White - 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside the cards)
- (4) layering pieces - 4 1/16" x 5 5/16"
- (4) embossed layers - 4" x 5 1/4" (I used the Merry Melody folder)
- (8) Greetings.
For the first batch of cards, I'm going back to my post from March 21, 2021 - Designer Series Paper Mash-ups! I used the exact same diagram to cut up all (4) pieces of the Tidings of Christmas designer series paper.
Paper measurements:
- Evening Evergreen/Soft Succulent: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/4".
- White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of cards)
- Evening Evergreen/Soft Succulent: 4 1/16" x 5 5/16"
- Tidings of Christmas Designer Series papers: (4) pcs 6" x 6"
- Evening Evergreen/Soft Succulent: 2" circles
- White: 1 3/4" circles, embossed with Wrapped in Textures folder
- White: scraps to stamp/punch trees, and greetings
Cut designer series papers according to pattern (from March post linked above), and sort into piles. Tape onto the Evening Evergreen/Soft Succulent layers and then glue onto card bases.
Stamp and punch trees in Evening Evergreen, then ink blend/sponge some Soft Succulent all around them.
Layer the circles, glue to the card fronts, and then pop the trees up. Add the greeting, and finish off with a few Holiday Rhinestones!
Stamps: Banner Year, Perfectly Plaid
Ink: Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Versamark
Paper: Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, White, Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Papers
Other: 1 3/4" & 2" circle punches, Pine Tree punch, Wrapped in Textures embossing folder, Holiday Rhinestones, Gold and Silver embossing powders
For the next batch of cards, I used the 2 1/8" x 6" strip of designer series papers that were left over from when we cut for the first batch of cards.
The premise is the same for all (4) of these cards. I went with a tone-on-tone card base with embossed layer. I used the Merry Melody embossing folder, that is coming soon in the July-December Catalog. I love it!
I used silver-embossed greetings on both of these.
Same principle for these green ones, but I added some punched out trees and gold-embossed greetings. Finished off with some regular Pearls.
Stamps: Poinsettia Petals, Perfectly Plaid
Ink: Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Versamark
Paper: Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, White, Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Papers
Other: Double Oval punch, Pine Tree punch, Gold and Silver embossing powders, Pearls, pre-made holly leaves/poinsettias from my stash.
Next Thursday (7/22), I'll be breaking out the Sale-a-Bration dies that I'm very happy about - they coordinate with the Shaded Summer stamps from the main catalog! AWESOME!!!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
