Double Compartment Two-Piece Box - perfect for Valentine's

Good evening Crafty Friends!  I've got another Valentine's project for you tonight.  Remember on Thursday night, I made the pizza box to hold a single cupcake - but I really wanted to make a Double Compartment Pizza Box?  Well the math wasn't mathing, in order to make a pizza box for two cupcakes so I did some different mathing this weekend and came up with a two-piece box that is perfect!

Finished size is 4" x 8" x 1 1/2" tall, and it's got a divider in the middle so you can separate your treats!  If you don't want the divider - leave it out.

Watch my video on YouTube to see how I made this beautiful box.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.

Let's start with a side view of this box.  See how you can see the bottom is a different color?  I love doing that!  The trick is to make the sides of the bottom piece taller than the top piece.

I added designer series papers to the inside of the  compartments.  I think it' looks a little nicer, but you can leave this out if you want.

A close-up of the divider.  It's actually a long piece, scored 3 times and glued in the middle to make that piece stand up.  It's not attached to the sides of the box, so it will/can move - but it's sturdy enough.

Here's the pattern.  One drawing with two different sets of measurements.

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red/Box TOP:  6 1/16" x 10 1/16"  ( I know my picture says 6 1/6"...that's wrong!)
    • Score at 1" on all four sides
  • Made with Love DSP:  3 3/4" x 7 3/4"
  • Flirty Flamingo/Box BOTTOM:  7" x 11"
    • Score at 1 1/2" on all four sides
  • Flirty Flamingo/Divider:  3 7/8" x 10 1/4", score at 3 7/8", 5 1/8", 6 3/8"
  • Made with Love DSP:  (2) 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Flirty Flamingo/Real Red/Basic White:  scraps to die-cut and punch various hearts
I glued all of the hearts on the box top down flat, but you could pop some up if you want.  You could also add ribbon.

Stamps:  Seasonal Stamps, Reason to Celebrate
Ink:  Real Red, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, Basic White, Made with Love Designer Series Paper
Other:  Dashes and Frills Hearts dies (Unity Stamp Co), different heart punches, Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems, Real Red 1/2" Shiny ribbon

Here's a couple of pictures of the prototype for this box.  I used the Cute as Can Bee papers with the same stamps.  Pretty in Pink and Petunia Pop cardstock.

Don't forget that this Thursday, I'll be starting a new Mini Album - this time using the Love Story Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.  I'm not creating the 12" x 12" layouts that they've designed for this kit.  I'm using some of the chipboard pieces that come in our Paper Pumpkin Kits, so the finished album size will be 6 1/8" x 9" x 2".  That 2" spine seems huge!  It's going to hold SEVEN pages!  I've already cut a bunch for this Part 1 video.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
