Keeping Traditions Holiday Mini Album Part 3 (Final)

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends!  I'm finally getting this post completed, from Sunday night.  I finally finished my Keeping Traditions Mini Album, and I hope you love it as much as I do.  I think I've got some neat ideas in this album for adding more and more pictures.

In this final episode of my Keeping Traditions Mini Album series, I'm working on the front cover, adding ribbon, adding all of my 3" x 4" and 4" x 6" pocket fillers, creating some tags and photo booklets, and showing you how to add tags or photo mats/journaling pieces with hinges.  Cool stuff!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously, but I recommend viewing on YouTube.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.

For this Part 2 session, I'm sharing pictures of some of the elements that I created.  Not all of them.  For instance, I created three photo booklets....I might only have pictures of one.  I also created a few tags, but I'm only showing pics of one or two.

Before I even started filming this video, I cut all of the 3" x 4" and 4" x 6" pieces of dsp and two-tone cardstock to fill ALL of the pockets.  Just to have something in them...whether I swap out for pictures later, or use them for journaling - I just wanted something in every pocket.  This includes every pocket in the pocket page protectors as well as all of the Flip Flaps that I added to this album.  I used up all of my smaller scraps first, before cutting into larger pieces of paper.

Paper Measurements:
  • 3" x 4" pieces:  (34)
  • 4" x 6" pieces:  (19)
I started with the front cover.  I layered some DSP on to Real Red Two-Tone cardstock, and layered some stickers.  Tie some ribbon around the album, and finish off with some sparkly bits.

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red Two-Tone:  6 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • DSP (Cherry Cobbler dots):  6 1/4" x 8 1/4"
  • The rest is just scraps and stickers.
Inside the front cover, I had a pocket.  I created this 5" x 7" photo booklet, and 4" x 6" tag to go in that pocket.  The "December documented" journaling bit is also a tuck spot - just glued down in the corner.

Paper Measurements:
  • Secret Sea TT CS:  7" x 10", scored at 5"
  • Secret Sea DSP:  4 3/4" x 6 3/4"
  • Secret Sea TT CS:  4" x 12", scored at 6" and glued together to make a studier tag
  • Poinsettia DSP:  3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
I had some 5" x 6" pieces of two-tone cardstock left, so I made a tip in with this one.  Add DSP and a sticker to the front.  I can definitely add more stickers or gems once I know what I'm going to put on this piece.

See how I used two hinges to attach this?  There's a reason for that, and I do talk about that in the video.  Paper-clipped that journaling bit to the back here.

Paper Measurements:
  • Pool Party TT CS:  5" x 6"
  • Lined DSP:  4 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Pool Party TT CS Hinges:  (2) 2 1/4" x 1", scored at 1/2"

Another photo booklet for this Pocket page, with a poinsettia die-cut on the front for a tuck spot.

This might be my favorite tag in this book.  It started out as a stand-alone pocket tag.  I was going to clip it to this page with a paper clip, but changed my mind.  I added it as a tip-in with a hinge, and I love it!

It's a pocket, with a tag that you can see peeking out from the top.  Then there's a pocket on the front, made from the green plaid DSP.  Finally, there is a tuck spot made with those two poinsettia die-cuts.  So many possibilities to add things to this tag!

Paper Measurements:
  • Old Olive Two-Tone CS:  4" x 12", scored at 6".  Glue bottom and left side to make pocket.
  • Old Olive Plaid DSP:  3 1/2" x 5", scored at 1/2" on three sides to make the gusseted pocket
  • Real Red TT CS (tag):  3" x 6 1/2"
  • Real Red TT CS Hinge:  5 1/2" x 1", scored at 1/2"
There's still plenty to see and hear about in the video, but these are just some highlights.
