Friends of Unity December 2025 Blog Hop: Mood Board

Welcome to the December 2025 Blog Hop, brought to you by the Friends of Unity Blog hoppers!  This month, we've got this awesome Mood Board!  The idea is to take whatever elements you want from this board and reflect that in your project.

I took the sketch, colors, greenery, and pinecones.  I love this whole mood board idea!

Something special to note is that this month is the 8th Anniversary of the Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers!  I've only been playing with them for about a year now, but that's so cool that they've been doing this for 8 years!

Paper Measurements:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Cherry Cobbler:  4 1/16" x 5 5/16"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Christmas Pack DSP (wood/pinecone print):  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Christmas Pack DSP (green plaid):  (3) 1/2" x 6"
  • Cherry Cobbler:  3" circle, cut with largest Stylish Shapes circle die
  • Basic White:  3" circle, cut with Layering Circles die to fit inside Cherry Cobbler circle
  • Basic White:  scraps to stamp and hand-cut pine cones and greeting

I started off gluing the 1/2" strips of plaid paper to the main piece of patterned paper.  Follow the sketch.  I liked the pinecones on the paper, and tried not to cover them up entirely.

Then I stamped the pinecones and greenery on a Basic White circle, and mounted that to a Cherry Cobbler Circle.

Stamp two pinecones AGAIN, color in with some Stampin' Blends markers and then hand-cut.  I used three different shades of brown to color them in.  Glue the pinecones over top of the ones that I stamped originally.

Run Clear Shimmer Brush all over the pinecones.  I finished off with some Textured Metallic dots.

Here's a list of everything I used:

Stamps: Whispering Pines and Let's get Merry (both from Unity Stamp Co)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Basic White, "Christmas Pack" (that's really what it's called.  I thought it was from Unity, but it doesn't say.)
Other:  Stylish Shapes dies, Layering Circles dies, Stampin' Blends markers (various shades of brown), Textured Metallic dots, Shimmer brush marker

You probably got here from Joyce's post, and the next stop is Jenni's creation. Please hop on through and check out everyone's projects.
