My WCMD Makes - Faux Step Cards

Hello Crafty Friends!

LAST Saturday was World Card Making Day.  I spent they day hanging out with Craft Roulette on their YouTube channel, and got some great ideas.  They had a LOT of guest stampers who shared at least a card or two and different techniques or card designs.  It was a good time.

While they were busy stamping and talking - I was busy cleaning off my table and made these two cards.  I started off with a few scraps of paper from the One Horse Open Sleigh pack.  Decided I had enough to make some Faux Step Cards and went with it.

They are both the same design - embossed center back panel, dsp/cs layer on front step, and a stamped/die-cut focal image.  Measurements are all the same.

Paper measurements:

• Coastal Cabana/Early Espresso:  4 1/4" x 9", scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", and 5 3/4"
• Coastal Cabana/Early Espressoe:  2 1/2" x 11", scored in half at 5 1/2"
• Coastal Cabana/Early Espresso:  3" x 4" embossed
• Basic White:  3" x 4", to write on
• Coastal Cabana/Early Espresso:  2 1/4" x 5 1/4"
• One Horse Open Sleigh DSP:  2" x 5", and 1" x 4"
• Coastal Cabana/Early Espresso/Basic White:  scraps for greetings
• Coastal Cabana:  scrap to stamp/emboss/die-cut trees
• Pecan Pie:  scrap to die cut moose

Let's look at the Coastal Cabana card.   I used one of the Basics embossing folders on the center panel, because it looks close enough to snowflakes for me.  Embossed the trees with white powder, and cut with the Forever Forests dies.  Added some old sequins that were not exactly the same shade of blue, but close enough.

The moose card might be my favorite.  I used a different embossing folder for the background - Evergreen Trees (retired).  The moose die is from Gina Marie Designs.  I cut that out and then ink blended all the edges.  Finished off with some Gold Snowflakes.

I hope you see how versatile this card design is.  Change up the colors/papers/theme to anything you want!

Stamps:  Forever Forest Bundle, Merriest Trees, "happy birthday" (unknown set from Stampin UP)

Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Pecan Pie, Versamark

Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Basic White, One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series paper

Other:  Basics #1 and Evergreen embossing folders, Moose die (Gina Marie Designs), Double Oval punch, Alabaster embossing powder (Brutus Monroe), Blue sequins, Snowflakes Assortments
