October 2023 Online Class - Merriest Trees Stamp-a-Stack

Hi Crafty Friends!

This month, I'm offering a Stamp-a-Stack featuring the Merriest Trees bundle, and Shining Christmas papers. These papers have foil on one side, Cherry Cobbler/White prints on the back sides. They're so SHINY!!! Video from Thursday is linked below.

My Online classes are free for everyone to watch and craft along. I love for you to case my cards with your own materials.  Otherwise, I also offer a class packet (US only, sorry).

I have a short turn around time for my online classes, so RSVP/$$ is due by Thursday, October 26th if you are interested in this card class.  Details are all below.

First off - let me repeat myself, so there are no surprises - you will be cutting your own Designer Series papers.  Follow along with the video for specific cutting tips.

Click HERE if there is no video below.

First card uses the branchy tree print from the Shining Christmas Designer series paper pack, along with an embossed strip.  I've die-cut three different sizes of trees from the Merriest Trees dies.  Stamp your trees with whatever "branch" or pine needle set that you have.  I ink blended all around the edges, coming in to leave the centers of the trees a little lighter.  That was just my preference...you ink blend your trees however you want.

Paper measurements:
  • Mossy Meadow:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Cherry Cobbler:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Shining Christmas DSP (branchy tree print):  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Cherry Cobbler:  1 1/2" x 5 1/4", embossed with Basics #3 folder
  • Basic White:  enough to die cut trees, and hand-cut greeting

Pop up the front two trees with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Add some Iridescent Rhinestones to each tree to finish.

Stamps:  Merriest Trees bundle, So Very Merry
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Basic White, Shining Christmas Designer series paper
Other:  Basics #3 embossing folder, Iridescent Rhinestones

My second card has two layers of the sheer ribbon on each side of the DSP panel.  I like this effect, especially since the ribbon is see-through.  I've embossed the larger die-cut tree with the Fern folder.  The smaller tree is left plain, to emboss a greeting in white.  If you don't have the Merriest Trees stamps, you could emboss the smaller tree with a different folder, then stamp a greeting separately and layer across the trees.

Paper measurements:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Cherry Cobbler:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Shining Christmas DSP (presents print):  3" 5 1/4"
  • Mossy Meadow:  enough to die cut two trees, emboss larger with Fern folder
Glue the larger tree down flat, and pop up that smaller tree.

Finish off with Iridescent Rhinestones.

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Basic White, Shining Christmas Designer series paper
Other:  Fern embossing folder, Basics embossing powders (white), Silver & White Sheer ribbon, Iridescent Rhinestones

The third card was a fold that I came up with for this class. It's a Z-fold with an extra panel on the front. I don't have a name for it...open for suggestions!

You'll be using two different DSP prints for this card. A smaller piece for this front flap, and a bigger piece for the inside.
Trees are already die cut and embossed for you. You'll only need to stamp your greeting for this one.

Paper measurements:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  5 1/2" x 11", scored at 2 1/2", and 6 3/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Shining Christmas DSP:  print #1 (front flap) 2 1/4" x 5 1/4"; print #2 (middle panel)  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Cherry Cobbler:  3" x 4 1/4"
  • Cherry Cobbler:  2 3/4" x 4", embossed with Merry Melody folder
  • Basic White:  enough to die cut 2 same size trees, emboss ONE with Distressed Tile folder
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/hand-cut greeting

Look at the card opened up - very cool!  You can add a pocket to that middle panel, if you want to use this to give gift cards/money/tickets also.  You could also change that DSP for another piece of Basic White if you have a lot to write.  You could also add a picture there.

I tied my double-length of Sheer ribbon around the embossed panel of Cherry Cobbler before glueing it down to the larger piece.  I did this because I don't want to see the ribbon on the back.

Glue your doubled up tree down, then add the greeting popped up.  Finish off with Iridescent Rhinestones.

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Basic White, Shining Christmas Designer series paper
Other:  Merry Melody and Distressed Tile embossing folders, Silver & White Sheer ribbon, Iridescent Rhinestones

The last set of cards is a Gatefold.  This is a great card to use magnets to keep it closed, but I did not use them this time.  You'll stamp and cut your tree for the center focal image.  If you don't have the Merriest Trees bundle, use whatever tree you have that will fit in this space.

Add a swoopy loopy of Silver & White Sheer ribbon to the embossed Cherry Cobbler, then pop your tree up on top of the ribbon.

Paper measurements:
  • Mossy Meadow:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 2 1/8", then fold the other side in to meet in the middle
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Shining Christmas DSP (argyle print):  (2) 2" x 5 3/8"
  • Mossy Meadow:  3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
  • Cherry Cobbler:  3 1/4" x 4 1/2", embossed with Basics #3 folder
  • Basic White:  enough to stamp/cut tree and greeting

Card opened up - again, you could add a pocket to either side of this gatefold, if you want somewhere to tuck a gift card.

Stamp and hand-cut greeting.  Glue it down across the tree.  Finish with plenty of Iridescent Rhinestones.
