I caught my friend, Sue Kruse's, video last Friday night when she made some REALLY cool Diagonal Joy Fold cards. She made several versions - some portrait, some landscape, and each one had different papers and colors involved.
I made one in a landscape orientation, and I brought out one of my favorite stamp sets...Cactus Cuties. I still can't believe how much I've used this CUTE set. I stamped and hand-cut everything.
Paper Measurements:
- Cajun Craze 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2", cut diagonally from center score to bottom right corner of card front.
- Cajun Craze: triange scrap that you cut off, trim down a wee bit so it fits on the front. Emboss with Exposed Brick folder
- Petal Pink: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
- Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Cajun Craze: 4" x 6", scored in half at 3"
- Petal Pink: 2 7/8" x 3 7/8", embossed with Painted Textures folder
- Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP: 1" x 3 7/8"
- Basic White: scrap piece to stamp and hand-cut all the plants, planters and greeting
Build a little scene on the front. The cactus plants on the left and right are glued down flat. Middle plant is popped up. Finish with some Iridescent Pastel Gems and a tiny bow tied with Cajun Craze baker's twine (old).
Take look at the inside, with the card flipped up. I added a scrap of Petal Pink and the Dry Brushed Metallic to cover the magnet that I put under there. Another magnet lives underneath the Basic White piece.
