Good evening Crafty Friends! It's Monday night, and I had some free time tonight so I made a process video for my Craft Roulette Challenge submission. I got this Double Flap card fold idea from my friend Sue, over at Krusin' Through Ink - thanks Sue! Perfect timing!
I also made a process video this week. Link is further down in this post.
Find Craft Roulette on YouTube @CraftRoulette and play along when you can!
Episode #165 parameters, and how I met them:
- Project: Card with Flaps
- Colors: Winter - blue and purple
- Element: Children's Story - Little Mermaid
- Random: Tile(s) - embossed a tile print on some of the patterned paper
Picture of the card opened once - remember this is a Double Flap.
You can see from the second picture that the card has another set of flaps when you open it. Start by folding and scoring both pieces of Lost Lagoon. Then glue Lost Lagoon #2 INSIDE of Lost Lagoon #1.
Add your patterned papers to your flaps - I used magnets to keep mine closed. (Affiliate link if you need some: https://amzn.to/3b8p7Pk)
Build your focal piece on the front of your card. I started with the scalloped circle of Lost Lagoon, so that I could bury the other magnet under there. Add the white-embossed piece.
Add shells, and then pop up the mermaid and greetings. Finish off with some In Color Opal Rounds.
In the video, I did show my quick method of "watercoloring" on regular cardstock. It's so fast and easy!
Paper Measurements:
- Lost Lagoon #1: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 2 3/4", 8 1/4"
- Lost Lagoon #2: 5 3/8" x 8 1/2", scored at 2 1/8", 6 3/8"
- Pattern Paper #1: (2) 2 1/2" x 4"
- Pattern Paper #2: (2) 1 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/8", for inside of card
- Lost Lagoon/Highland Heather/Basic White: pieces big enough to die cut scalloped/layering circles, stamp/emboss shells, and mermaid
Very inside of the card shows all 4 flaps. I had teeny pieces of the patterned paper left over, so I wavy cut them and mounted.
Stamps: Magical Mermaid, Shells2Stamp (Stamps of Life)
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Highland Heather, Pool Party, Petal Pink, Pecan Pie
Paper: Lost Lagoon, Highland Heather, Basic White, Mermaid Patterned papers (unknown)
Other: Layering Circles dies, Clear Wink of Stella, Aqua Painter/Water brush, 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds, magnets
Looking forward to Friday with another set of parameters to work with!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
Toni
