Hello Friends!
We’re making Winter Wishes projects this month - snowflakes and snow creatures. I figured by the time you get these Make-n-Take kits, it will be early January, so it’s the perfect time for winter themed things. Turns out the Yeti stamps and dies, and the Wonderful Snowflakes that I used are on sale right now!
Check out my Workshop of the Month page for details about my workshop - ordering and freebie info.
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
First up is a card featuring theYeti to Party stamps and dies, AND the Snowflake Specialty Vellum. Unfortunately, the snowflake vellum sold out the day before my workshop. If Yeti’s are not your thing - use the Shimmery White cardstock pieces in your kit to do something else - stamp and/or die cut some other snowflakes, or maybe even just stamp a greeting and layer it. This snowflake vellum (this is the flocked) really can stand alone.
Paper measurements:
- Pool Party: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored in half at 4 1/4”
- Snowflake Specialty Vellum: 4” x 5 1/4”
- Basic White: 4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of the card
- Shimmery White: 3 1/2” x 4 3/4”
- Shimmery White: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”, notched corner to stamp/cut out yeti, present, words
Finish off with a few Seasonal Sequins!
Stamps: Yeti to Part
Ink: Pool Party, Sweet Sorbet, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Pool Party, Shimmery White, Basic White, Snowflake Specialty Vellum
Other: easonal Sequins
Second project is a Fun Fold - this one is a Landscape Gatefold. Add some Texture Chic designer series paper to the flaps. I LOVE all the gold in these papers! Die cut some snowflakes out of the Gold & Rose Gold papers.
Stamp some snowflakes tone-on-tone on the Soft Succulent square, using Soft Succulent ink. Greeting is stamped in Evening Evergreen - you could certainly emboss that in gold too for even MORE GOLD!
Paper measurements:
- Evening Evergreen: 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 2 3/4”, and 8 1/4”
- Basic White: 4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
- Texture Chic designer series paper (2 different prints): 2 1/2” x 4”
- Evening Evergreen: 2 3/4” x 2 3/4”, cut with Stylish Shapes dies
- Soft Succulent: 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”
- Gold/Rose Gold: scraps to die cut snowflakes
Finish off with some Seasonal Sequins.
Stamps: Season of Chic bundle
Ink: Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen
Paper: Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Basic White, Gold & Rose Gold, Texture Chic designer series paper
Other: Stylish Shapes dies, Seasonal Sequins
I demonstrated tone-on-tone stamping using the Versamark ink pad, on Starry Sky cardstock. You could get the same effect using StarrySky ink. Add a strip of designer series paper, stamp and glue down the words. Add some Party Puffins (or ANY critter that you have, or flowers/snowflakes/anything else if you don’t like critters). Lots of possibilities.
I colored the Puffins with some Stampin’ Blends, and popped them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Paper measurements for the Center Step cards:
- Starry Sky: 4 1/4” x 4 1/4”
- Starry Sky: 4” x 4”
- Tea Boutique Designer series paper: 2” x 4”
- Basic White: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”, notched corner to stamp and cut words and puffins.
Color the White Crinkled Seam Binding with Stampin’ Blends markers, and tie with the same amount of White ribbon.
Finish off with some more Seasonal Sequins.
Stamps: Party Puffin, Biggest Wish
Ink: Starry Sky, Versamark, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper: Starry Sky, Basic White, Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper
Other: Stampin’ Blends markers (various), White Crinkled Seam Binding, Seasonal Sequins
The last project is my absolute favorite from the bunch. It’s a 3” x 6” Vintage Mini Slimline with envelope, BUT it could also be a little notepad…cut some printer paper, fold in half and staple inside of this. You could put pockets inside, and tuck it inside of a journal. You could glue shut the bottom and right side and make it a pocket! Lots of possibilities.
When I think of Vintage colors, I think of browns, and pink. This Petal Pink is a little bit orange-y, but it works well with the Crumb Cake. Stamp some vintage images from the Ranunculous Romance stamps in Crumb Cake. Rip some small pieces of the Abigail Rose designer series paper and ink the edges.
The piece d’resistance here is the Wonderful Snowflake. The front is the shimmery/coated iridescent side. Well…..flip it over and use your ink blending brushes to make it Petal Pink (or whatever color you choose). It’s PERFECT!
Paper measurements:
- Crumb Cake: 6” x 6”, scored and folded in half at 3”
- Crumb Cake: 2 3/4” x 5 3/4”
- Very Vanilla: 2 3/4” x 5 3/4”, for inside of card
- Petal Pink: 7 1/2” x 7 1/2” (I will cut/score and fold up your envelope for you, for mailing your packets)
- Abigail Rose Designer Series paper (2 prints): 2” x 6” strips
- Petal Pink: scrap to stamp/cut greeting with Stylish Shapes dies
Glue down all your bits and pieces. The greeting is popped up. Finish off with some Seasonal Sequins
Stamps: Peaceful Moments, Ranunculous Romance
Ink: Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Paper: Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Very Vanilla, Abigail Rose designer series papers
Other: Stylish Shapes dies, Wonderful Snowflakes, Seasonal Sequins
I hope you enjoy my ideas! Tune in next Thursday night for some gift packaging ideas.
