October 2022 Virtual Workshop -Cottage Wreath

Hello again friends!

Thank you for joining me for my October 2022 Virtual Workshop.  I’m featuring the Cottage Wreath bundle this month, and it’s my hope that you can copy these projects, or use the Make-n-Take kits with any other wreath set that you may already have.  We have to use our stuff!!  I think I’ve bought just about every wreath set that Stampin’ Up has ever had, because they’re good year-round.  Not just for Christmas! When I designed these projects, that was my goal - to show you the versatility of the wreaths.

Be sure to check all the details about my Workshop of the Month for ordering and FREEBIE info!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

For my first project, we’re doing a spring-ish season card.  Soft Succulent, along with Pale Papaya and Sweet Sorbet.  I FORGOT to emboss my Soft Succulent layer with the Painted Textures embossing folder, so I crinkled it up with my hand.  Your Make-n-take kit will include both an embossed piece and a plain piece for this layer…you choose which look you want.

The wreath pieces are already die-cut for you on this card.  You’ll only need to stamp the greeting.  I used glue and Mini Dimensionals to build the wreath.  Crinkled my designer paper bits, and glued all of that down.  I really enjoy the extra texture that you get from crinkling/crumpling your papers.

Paper Measurements:
  • Soft Succulent:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Soft Succulent:  4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Painted Textures folder, OR hand-crumpled
  • Soft Succulent/Pale Papaya/Sweet Sorbet:  cut with wreath dies
  • Lovely in Linen DSP:  (2) prints, 2” x 2 5/8”
  • Pale Papaya:  scrap to stamp greeting
Finish with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Stamps:  Cottage Wreath Bundle
Ink:  Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya, Sweet Sorbet, Lovely in Linen Designer Series Paper
Other:Painted Texture embossing folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Next, we’ve got a Black & White Halloween FUN FOLD card.  This is called a Double Point Fun Fold card.  The wreath is stamped in Smoky Slate and Black, and add some spiders.  Greeting is hand-cut and popped up there too.  Add a little bow tied with the Black & White Gingham ribbon.  I love that ribbon, because you can color it with any Stampin’ Blend marker.  Add a few Rhinestones to the wreath for some sparkle!

Paper measurements:
  • Basic Black:  4 1/4” x 5 1/2”
  • Basic White:  4” x 10 1/2”, scored at 5 1/4”
  • Basic White:  (2) pieces 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”, scored in half diagonally
  • Black & White Designer Series Paper:  3 7/8” x 5 1/8”
  • Basic Black:  1 1/4” x 11”
  • Basic Black:  4” x 4”, cut with Seasonal Labels die and embossed with Gingham folder
  • Basic White:  4 1/4” x 5 1/2”, notched corner to stamp/cut wreath and greeting
Belly Band keeps this card together.  Seasonal Label die cut from Basic Black card stock, then embossed with the Gingham folder.

Opened shows how the card opens vertically, and the double points fold in from the sides. The diagonally folded squares are glued BEHIND the 4” x 10 1/2” white, before it is glued to the Basic Black base.  You can see the shadows of the white showing up on this picture.

This is a really neat fold!  So many possibilities with this fold.

Stamps:  Cottage Wreath bundle
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento), Smoky Slate
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Black & White Designer Series paper
Other:  Seasonal Labels dies, Gingham folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Black & White Gingham ribbon

For the third project, I wanted a FALL theme card…because Fall is my absolute favorite season!  I love the tone-on-tone look here too.  Emboss the Pumpkin Pie layer with the Leaf Fall embossing folder, mounted on the Pumpkin Pie card base.

Again, this wreath is just die-cuts that you’ll assemble.  I didn’t realize that the die-cuts layered so perfectly until I put it together.  Doh!  Die cuts are in Early Espresso, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake.

There are actually two pieces of the Gingham Plaid DSP in your kit - So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie.  I only ended up using the Pumpkin Pie piece - and I scraped the edge of the Early Espresso pad around the edges to make it stand out.  If you don’t like the messy look of the inked edges, you could add a layer of Early Espresso cardstock.

The really fun part of this card is the Silver Threaded Twine.  I cut some pieces off the roll and then pulled the twine apart.  I think this would be a really good look for a ocean-themed card too…it kind of looks like fishing net.

Paper measurements:
  • Pumpkin Piece:  5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4”
  • Pumpkin Piece:  4” x 5 1/4”, embossed with Leaf Fall folder
  • VeryVanilla:  4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
  • Cottage Gingham Designer Series Paper:  (2) prints, 3” x 3”
  • Early Espresso/Soft Suede, Crumb Cake:  scraps to die cut wreath, stamp greeting
Greeting is stamped in Early Espresso, and the edges ripped.

Finish off with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels that I colored with a dark brown Stampin’ Blend.  I believe it was the SU100…the darkest available.

Stamps:  Cottage Wreath bundle
Ink:  EarlyEspresso
Paper:  Pumpkin Piece, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Cottage Gingham Designer Series paper
Other:  Leaf Fall embossing folder, Silver Threaded Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Blends (100??  Dark brown)

Last card is another fun fold - with an acetate layer!  The acetate is actually a bridge that holds the bottom pieces of Evening Evergreen on.  Add some Painted Christmas DSP, and a Seasonal Label layer, embossed with the Fern folder.

Classic Christmas season wreath for this card - green and red!

Paper measurements:
  • Evening Evergreen:  4 1/4” x 7 1/4”, scored and folded at 5 1/2”
  • Evening Evergreen:  (3) 1 3/4” x 4 1/4”
  • Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
  • Painted Christmas DSP:  (2) 1 1/2” x 4”
  • Real Red:  4” x 4”, cut with Seasonal Labels die, embossed with Fern folder
  • Basic White:  4 1/4” x 5 1/2”, notched corner to stamp/die-cut wreath and greeting
  • Acetate Sheet:  4” x 5 1/4”.  Also called Window Sheet or transparencies.
Card opened shows the acetate, and how I added pieces of Evening Evergreen to the back to cover up the acetate.  Otherwise, you’d see the tape where the acetate is attached.

Finished off with some of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Stamps:  Cottage Wreath Bundle
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Real Red
Paper:  Evening Evergreen, Real Red, Basic White, Painted Christmas Designer Series paper
Other:  Seasonal Labels dies, Fern embossing folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Acetate sheets

I really hope you CASE these projects with whatever wreath sets you have.  Get more out of your wreaths!
