Hi Crafty Friends! I'm VERY last posting this month's class. It's been a busy week or two or five.
At any rate - you're here, so thank you for checking out this month's Online Class featuring some of the Abstract Beauty products, along with my NEW FAVORITE stamp set - Go To Greetings! This greeting set is so versatile, and I love all the different fonts!
You'll make (8) cards in this class, and you'll also get 2 BONUS project ideas in the class tutorial. It's a separate video and tutorial WITHIN the PDF tutorial.
Here are the cards -
I'm going to give paper measurements here on the blog, but will leave instructions to the video. Step-by-step instructions are included in the PDF tutorial that comes with the class packet.
Let's look at the video and cards from Day 1 of class -
The first two cards use the Abstract Beauty cards and envelopes, along with some pieces of the Abstract Beauty papers (You'll cut your own DSP for this class), as well as some of the bits from the Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack. I've added ribbon, and some die-cuts that you'll need.
Paper measurements:
- Abstract Beauty card and envelope.
- Balmy Blue: scrap to die cut largest circle from Beautiful Shapes dies
- Basic White: scrap to die cut smallest circle from Beautiful Shapes dies
- Abstract Beauty DSP: pick 2 prints and cut different size circles.
Paper measurements:
- Abstract Beauty Card and envelope
- Abstract Beauty DSP: use one piece. Rip about a 2" strip to glue down, then stamp on the opposite side and hand-cut for the greeting.
For the third card, I wanted to use some recently-retired Magenta Madness card stock. I've got PLENTY to go around for kits, so don't worry that I'll run out..
Paper measurements:
- Magenta Madness: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Magenta Madness: 4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Hive folder
- Basic White: scrap cut with Stylish Shapes dies
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
Paper measurements:
- Night of Navy: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2", and 6 3/4".
- Pumpkin Pie: 4" x 4"
- Basic White: 4" x 4" (for inside of card)
- DSP print #1: 3 7/8" x 3 7/8"
- DSP print #2: 1" x 4"
- Magenta Madness: 1 3/8" x 3 3/8"
- Basic White: scrap to cut with Stylish Shapes die
Watch the video from Day 2 - NOTE: I had streaming problems to Facebook about 18 or so minutes in, but the YouTube video is complete.
Paper measurements:
- Abstract Beauty Card and envelope
- Abstract Beauty DSP pinks print: 1 1/2" x 6"
- Abstract Beauty DSP gold stripes: 1" x 6"
- Basic White: scrap to die cut with Stylish Shapes dies
Card 2 from Day 2 uses (3) panels, all cut 2" x 3". Pick your favorite patterns and card base! I used Magenta Madness to layer my greeting, but I am also including a Pumpkin Pie layer in the card kits.
Paper measurements:
- Abstract Beauty Card and envelope
- Abstract Beauty DSP prints (3): 2" x 4"
- Magenta Madness & Pumpkin Pie (not shown): 1 1/2" x 6"
- Basic White: 1 1/4" x 6"
Third card is a Pop Up Front Step Panel Card - what a mouthful! Sorry for the terrible lighting on this picture.
Paper measurements:
- Blushing Bride: 4 1/4" x 11". Scored at 5 1/2", 6 3/4", 8 3/4", and 10"
- Abstract Beauty DSP/Blushing Bride/white dots print: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Abstract Beauty DSP/gold stripes print: 1" x 4", and 1 3/4" x 4"
- Blushing Bride: 2 3/4" x 5 5/8", scored on the long side at 3/8", 1 5/8".
- Basic White: 2 1/2" x 3 3/4", embossed with Timeworn Type folder
- Blushing Bride and Basic White: scraps to stamp greeting and punch with Double Oval punch
We're calling this last card the Hexagon Window Flip Card. Thanks to Sandi Marson for giving it a name! I made a card like this back in October or November and I love the design. The front layer of Basic Black is taped lightly onto the Basic Black card front, then cut with the largest Hexagon die. You want these cut out exactly the same, so it makes a window. Then pull the Basic Black layer off, emboss it with the Painted Textures folder and glue back on.
Paper measurements:
- Basic Black: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- Basic White THICK: 5 1/4" x 8", scored and folded at 4"
- Abstract Beauty DSP: 3 3/4" x 5" (or any other pattern you want)
Close your card all up, and glue down the largest size gold foil hexagon in the window cut-out...so it's perfectly lined up. Then stamp your greeting on the smaller white, and layer it with Blushing Bride.
Use the Adhesive-Backed Hexagons on your projects!!!
Stamps: Go To Greetings
Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)

I hope you enjoy this class. I absolutely love how all of these turned out!
