ToniStamps: February 2022 Online Class - Mini Envelope Album/Journal

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today's post is all about my February 2022 Online Class. This month, I made a Mini Album/Journal out of ENVELOPES!!! This is such a cool project! You can use it as a journal, as a mini scrapbook, or a combination. I intend to put both pictures and journaling in mine. I am SO PLEASED with how this turned out! Finished size is 5"ish x 7 1/4"ish.

I used the Blessings of Home, and Ranunculous Romance bundles for my project, but you can substitute with any flower/vintage-y set that you have.

Your materials packet for this class will include all of the pieces needed to complete the project:

(5) Kraft Envelopes, approximately 5 1/4" x 7 1/4"
Assorted cardstock cut to sizes needed: Garden Green, Cinnamon Cider, Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Basic Gray
(10) sheets 20 lb. copy paper for journal pages
(2) yards Linen Thread
PDF tutorial (will be emailed) - includes project pictures, measurements, and written instructions.

Tutorial Only Option is $20. There is no product or kit with this option. PDF only. Email me for this option.

I used the following ink pads: Versamark, Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight, and black. I used Midnight (black), from Catherine Pooler...but any black should be fine.

Day 1 - Started off making the base of our album, using Kraft envelopes. Cut all of the DSP, and card stock layers, and started glueing cardstock down. We also made (2) hand-sewn journals to go inside some of our page pockets!!!

Day 2 - Added flips, a large journal tag/photo mount, tip-ins, a corner pocket, some stacked pockets...lots of neat things! Also, added front and back covers with the artwork on top. Tied it all off with the Denim ribbon, and added some doilies and Classic Matte Dots.

Paper Measurements:

Base Cardstock for all pages: 5 1/8" x 7"
Base Designer Series paper for all pages: 4 7/8" x 6 3/4"

Front Cover Paper Measurements (other than the base pages listed above):

Cinnamon Cider: 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Shimmery White: 3 1/4" x 5"

Pages 1 & 2 - Journal card/photo mount with a belly band on page 1, and a side flip out on page 2.

Paper Measurements (other than the base pages listed above):

Cinnamon Cider Belly Band (horizontal): 1 3/8" x 5 1/8"
Pale Papaya journal/photo mount: 4" x 6"
Basic White back of journal/photo mount: 3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
Pale Papaya side flip: 4" x 4 1/2", scored at 4"
Basic White: 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Pages 3 & 4 - Die cut stacked tuck spot on page 3, and a top flip added to page 4.

Paper Measurements (other than the base pages listed above):

Misty Moonlight Top Flip: 4 1/4" x 6 1/2"
Basic White (back of top flip): 4" x 5 3/4"
Garden Green die cut: 3" x 3 3/4 (it's from Tim Holtz)

Picture below shows that page 2/3 is a pocket page, and I've got a hand-sewn journal tucked inside.

3-hole pamphlet stitch the journal pages.

Cinnamon Cider Journal Measurements:

Cinnamon Cider: 6 3/4" x 9", scored in half at 4 1/2"
Copy paper pages: 6 1/4" x 8 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/4"

Pages 5 & 6 - Two side flips on page 5, and a set of stacked pockets on page 6! Page 6/7 is another pocket page with a journal tucked inside.

Paper Measurements (other than the base pages listed above):

Cinnamon Cider flips: 3 1/4" x 3 3/4", scored at 3 1/4"
Basic White (back of flips): 3" x 3"
Misty Moonlight stacked pockets: 2" x 5" (2)

Page 5 side flip outs shown above, and a Misty Moonlight journal in Page 6 shown below. Journal measurements are the same as the Cinnamon Cider listed above.

Pages 7 & 8 - Corner tuck made with a square of designer series paper on page 7. Side flip on page 8.

Paper Measurements (other than the base pages listed above):

Heart & Home designer series paper for corner tuck: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Fresh Freesia for side flip: 4" x 4 1/2", scored at 4"
Basic White (back of flip): 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
