Cards that MOVE! Wobbles and Spinners!

Happy Friday Crafty Friends!

If you are interested in making cards that have a little movement to them - then last night's video tutorial is for you!  I showed how to make Wobble cards and a Spinner card!  So CUTE!  I also used this opportunity to show you some more ways to use those Sale-a-Bration freebies!

I ordered the "wobbles" from Amazon, so a quick search there will turn up a few different sizes if you want to make some wobble cards.

Just a reminder that I am Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

Let's look at the first one - the WOBBLE card!  I had NOT yet put ink on these Ladybug stamps, so I was happy to make this card.  I also used some of the Daffodil Afternoon papers from Sale-a-Bration.

Do you notice the flower centers are red???  They are actually Flirty Flamingo, but I colored them with a Dark Real Red Stampin' Blend.  Any red marker would do the job - I just grabbed what was closest.  I wanted those flower centers to be red, to tie in with the red ladybugs.

You stamp, punch and assemble your ladybugs and then attach the wobbles to the back side.

Paper measurements:
  • Evening Evergreen: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Bumblebee:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series paper:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Basic White:  scrap piece to stamp and cut out leaf, greeting and two sets of ladybug wings
  • Basic Black:  scrap to punch out two ladybug bodies.

Look at how far up these wobbles pop the lady bugs up!  They wobble really nicely too!  I ran the Clear Wink of Stella marker on the ladybug spots too.

I finished these off with a bunch of Iridescent Rhinestones.

Stamps:  Hello Ladybug Bundle
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Tuxedo Memento
Paper:  Evening Evergreen, Bumblebee, Basic White, Basic Black, Daffodil Afternoon designer series papers
Other:  Real Red Stampin' Blends, Iridescent Rhinestones, wobbles (from Amazon)

Next up is a Spinner card.  SOOOOOO CUTE!!!  AND COOL!  The spinning action on this one is on point!  There are a few different variations of "spinner cards".  This is the style that I've always made...it uses TWO PENNIES for the spinning mechanism!  Check out this tutorial on splitcoaststampers too - although they use a lot more measuring and lines than I did.  I just eyeballed a lot.  :)

I also snuck in another Sale-a-Bration freebie here - the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series paper pack.

I hand-cut an entire sheet of the cloud print paper, and have been using them on various things.  Clouds and greeting are all glued down flat - so that nothing interferes with the spinning rainbow.

Paper measurements:
  • Bermuda Bay: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (2 pieces, one for inside of card)
  • Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series paper:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8", and another strip 1 1/4" x 5 1/8" (stripes)
  • Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series paper:  Cloud print sheet...cut all the clouds out
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp rainbow and greeting.

Finish this off with a LOT of rhinestones - some In Color, and some Iridescent.

Stamps:  A Kit in Color (May 2020 Paper Pumpkin)
Ink: Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay
Paper:  Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, Shimmery White, All Together Designer Series paper
Other:  Circle cutters (Creative Memories), Heart & Home Doilies, 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems, Iridescent Rhinestones

I hope you can give these two cards a try.  The wobbles from Amazon are inexpensive, and they come in different sizes.  And I'm sure you can find two pennies in a junk drawer!  :)

Don't forget about my Workshop of the Month page for full details of this month's offer - which ends on Feb 28th (this coming MONDAY!!!) at 9:00pm ET!  I'm giving away a Calming Camellias stamp set - winner will be drawn from everyone who places their qualifying order on-line.  If you get the February Workshop make-n-take packet, you'll be entered into the drawing.
