Karen's Easy Pocket Cards

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!

Karen Titus recently came up with these really quick and easy pocket cards, using designer series paper for the pockets.  I thought I'd make a few, and use up some more of this Daffodil Afternoon Designer series paper that is a Sale-a-Bration item - free with $50 purchase (before tax and shipping).

Paper measurements:

• Basic Black/Flirty Flamingo:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
• Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series paper:  4" x 10 1/4".  Score at 1", and 5"
• Very Vanilla: 3 1/4" x 5" (cards that are inside the pocket)
• Very Vanilla:  scrap to stamp/punch dragonfly

First you cut and score your Designer series paper - and fold it up like this.  You want that 1" flap to come over.  You'll want to pay attention to pattern direction, if there is one.

Then I glued my flap down, and then added thin lines up the sides as shown here.

Tie ribbon around the whole bit, BEFORE you attach this to your card base.

Attached pocket to Basic Black, and add the single layer card to the pocket.  This is when you can add some gems or doo-dads if you want.  

I had to cut my cards for inside the pockets down to 3 1/4" x 5". These are narrower than Karen's.  I had to glue the sides of my pockets closed.  It just bothered me too much to leave them open. 

Stamps:  You Matter, Dragonfly Garden, Flowing Flowers

Ink: Midnight (Catherine Pooler), Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana

Paper:  Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Afternoon designer series papers

Other:  Dragonflies punch, Black Glittered organdy ribbon, Linen ribbon from Forever Greenery combo pack, Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave ribbon, Iridescent Rhinestones, Playing with Patterns Resin dots.
