Whew! This week has been a doozy - not enough time for everything, and I'm just now getting my blog updated. I just aired my June Class on Monday and Tuesday. This month's class is "Black & White" - all cards, and all black and white. I love the contrast, and I hope you enjoy the projects this month.
The class itself is free - you can watch it on either Facebook, or YouTube. Check out my Learn @Home page for full details of how I run these classes.
In this class, we are making (8) cards. You'll enjoy (4) card designs, making (2) of each. Envelopes for all cards are provided.
Optional Class Packet (US only) $30.00 includes:
Tutorial Only Option is $15.
- (8) card kits, with envelopes
- (1) pack of the Round & Square Brads (all black and white!)
- PDF Tutorial
- shipping
Expected dates for class packets:
- 6/23 - RSVP and payment due
- 6/24 - Order placed with Stampin' Up
- 7/2 - Delivery expected
- 7/5-6 - Packets mail out, and PDF Tutorials are emailed the same day.
Normally, I would make two separate blog posts - one for Monday, and one for Tuesday, but this time you're getting both in one!
Let's start with the first video, from Monday. Click HERE if this picture/link to YouTube does not show up for you. Please subscribe to my channel while you're at it!
Let's briefly go over each card. The first card uses the Blossoms in Bloom bundle. My suggestion if you don't have this set is to color inside the die cut with anything (markers, blends, chalks, ink blending...any coloring medium). Your kit includes the die-cut with an adhesive sheet on the back.
Stamps: Blossoms in Bloom bundle
Ink: Tuxedo Memento
Paper: Smoky Slate, Basic Black, White
Other: Round & Square Brads, Adhesive Sheets
Next is a card that I've had on my "make it" list for probably a year! It's a series of circles - cut them in half, stack them up, and flip around. This is a very cool look!
I used some of the Pattern Party designer series papers here, along with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder for the background.
Notice how "happy" is black on white, and "birthday" is white on black? I love it! I did hand-cut those, and it wasn't too terrible. In the video, I reversed the colors for the words - so "happy" was white on black, and "birthday" was black on white. Looks just as cool!
Ink: Onyx Versafine, Versamark
Paper: Basic Black, White, Pattern Party designer series paper
Other: Layering Circles dies, Brick & Mortar embossing folder, Round & Square Brads
Let's move on to Tuesday's video and cards. Again, click HERE if this picture/link to YouTube does not show up for you.
I used the new Beauty of Friendship bundle for this card. That's a White Thick card base, with white layers, and a strip of the Pattern Party designer papers. The tree die-cut is included in the optional class kit. Again, if you don't have this same stamp set, just about any tree will do for your background stamping.
Ink: Tuxedo Memento, Onyx Versafine
Paper: White (thick and regular), Basic Black, Pattern Party designer series paper
Other: Round & Square Brads
Last card is another where you could use a different stamp set/bundle. I've used Dragonfly Wishes, but you could also easily use Garden Wishes.
I stamped the flowers/weeds on the Tasteful Textiles embossed piece of Black, and embossed with white embossing powder. Emboss and punch out the dragonfly as well.
I also showed the "White Washing" technique on this card. Take some White craft ink (either smash some ink on a clear block for a palette, or squeeze some reinker out on a clear block), and a water brush and paint inside your images. Notice the milky look of the dragonfly and the flowers? That's the white washing technique. Try that on some different colors of cardstock!
Ink: White Craft, Tuxedo Memento (on the inside)
Paper: Basic Black, White
Other: Tasteful Textiles embossing folder, Round & Square Brads, white embossing powder
I hope you enjoyed this month's class! If you make any of these cards on your own, I'd love to see your versions - please post them to my Facebook Group: Toni's Stamping & Sharing Group
Visit me on Thursday at 11:00am ET on Facebook for my regular weekly Live video. This week, I'll be demonstrating two different techniques using the Pearlescent Paper and alcohol. They're both very pearly!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
