December 2020 Workshop

Hi Crafty Friends!  Yesterday, I demonstrated my December 2020 Workshop.  My theme for this workshop is Winter - think trees and snow - all things that make me think of winter!

Be sure to check out my Workshop of the Month page for all the details.

Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.

If you did not catch me live, you can still watch it on my Demonstrator Page later, OR on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

For those of you not into videos, I'll give a brief description of what I did for each project.

First up is a snowy mountain scene card - WITH and WITHOUT the snowflake embossing folder.  The Snowflake Splendor papers were the perfect wintery look.  If I didn't have that, I would have just sponged some Highland Heather, and a few shades of blues on a piece of Whisper White.

I stamped the mountains and moon off once, using Misty Moonlight ink. Trees and greetings were stamped with Night of Navy.  Finished off with Artistry Blooms sequins, and some of the gorgeous Snowflake Splendor 1/4" ribbon.  This stuff is so iridescent and pretty!

I hope you can see the embossed snowflakes on this one.  After I did all the stamping, I ran it through with the
Winter Snow embossing folder.

The one I did while filming did not get the snowflake embossing...I like them both!

Next up was a tone-on-tone card using a Seaside Spray card base and layer.  Trees are die-cut from Misty Moonlight, and the greeting was stamped on vellum in Night of Navy ink.  The ink stays wet on the vellum for quite a bit - long enough to add clear embossing powder!

I talked about adhering vellum to your projects.  I have NEVER found an adhesive that does not show through vellum.  I've tried PLENTY that said they wouldn't show through....haven't found one yet to do the job.  My advice is to use glue dots where you hide them in plain sight - behind rhinestones/pearls/doo-dads, or inside of a's or o's..lettters that the glue dot will fit inside.

The Snowflake Splendor bow also hides another glue dot behind it.

Third card was a Pool Party card base, with 3 equal panels of Snowflake Splendor DSP, and then a panel of vellum laid across all of them.  The vellum panel is embossed with the Winter Snow embossing folder as well - and yes, I hid a lot of glue dots behind the centers of the snowflakes!

I used Foam Adhesive Sheets on Misty Moonlight cardstock, so I could die-cut "friend" from the Well Written dies, and have it be popped up.  A strip of the Snowflake Splendor ribbon is taped down across the card front, add the "hello" and finish off with some of the Blue Adhesive gems.

Lastly, I used an Acetate Box to hold some hot cocoa packets, Kisses (I really need to swap out for something flatter, like Dove's or Hershey minis), and a candy cane.  After loading up the box, I wrapped a piece of the Snowflake Splendor DSP around the whole thing, and tied a double layer of the Snowflake Splendor ribbon.

Add some labels die-cut from the Halloween Magic dies, and the greeting used a NEW Double Oval punch (coming in the Jan-Jun catalog!).  Die cut some more trees, this time out of Pacific Point, and again used the Blue Adhesive-backed Gems.

I hope I've given you some ideas to copy!
