In this week's video, I wanted to spend some time with the Poinsettia dies. I haven't given them enough love these past few months, and they deserve their time in the spotlight. I really like making these in a LOT of different colors - they don't have to be traditional poinsettia colors!
Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.
If
you did not catch me live, you can still watch it on my Demonstrator Page OR on YouTube. If the picture does not appear

For those of you not interested in watching videos, I'll give a quick synopsis of each card here. However, card stock measurements are in the description section of the YouTube video.
My first card used some old Glimmer paper from an old Sale-a-Bration multipack. It had Sweet Sugarplum, Bermuda Bay, and I believe Mint Macaron in it. I cut all of the poinsettia pieces out of the 6" x 6" pieces of Glimmer paper. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to layer all the poinsettia pieces together, and then glued on the Beaded Pearls to the top. Tuck some vellum sprigs under the poinsettias before attaching to the card.
I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Parisian Flourish embossing folder, and added a little strip of vellum under the poinsettia. Embossed the sentiment, and finished off with some Artistry Blooms Sequins.
Notice the Coastal Cabana sequins are a little bit lighter than the Bermuda Bay, but I think it works!
Rich Razzleberry sequins from the Artistry Blooms pack look great here - perfect match!
Next I went gaga for GOLD! I started with some of the Gold Cards and Envelopes, from the current mini catalog. The cards are Very Vanilla with a gold foil border. I like White and Vanilla together, so I used the gold-foil papers from the Wonder of the Season Specialty paper pack. It really looks amazing!
For my poinsetttias, I cut a set from Gold Glimmer paper, and another set from Gold Foil. Then mix and match between the two cards. I love the effect!
In addition to the Beaded Pearls for the centers of the poinsettias, I had some old pearls that were a little larger to use on the smaller flowers.
Don't you just love the sparkle and shine together???
Lastly, I made some tags, again with a mix of Foil and Glimmer papers. The base of these tags is Silver and Gold foil, cut with the Ornate Layers dies. Then I added a piece of Plush Poinsettia papers, cut with the Halloween Magic dies. The holly berry pieces were from when I cut everything out at once. I just glued those together, and added some Beaded Pearls on top.
Stamp/emboss the greetings, and punch out with a 1 1/2" circle punch. Layered on to the largest scallop circle from the Tasteful Labels dies. Pop that layered greeting up, and finish off with some more pearls and Metallic Edged ribbons.
This one still doesn't quite show the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper that is underneath the greeting circle. Believe me - it's pretty, and it looks like sparkly snow!
I stamped this greeting in Real Red, and that makes it really pop. I had tried with Cherry Cobbler first, thinking that would match that Red Glimmer paper better, but that was too dark.
I hope I've inspired you to make some projects using whatever poinsettias you have!
