October 2020 Workshop

Happy October Crafty Peeps!  FALL is officially here, and I'm not upset that flip-flop weather is coming to an end.

This morning, I demonstrated my October 2020 Workshop.  I started out wanting to do all Fall projects, but then I snuck in a green wreath too...so I hope you love them all!

Be sure to check out my Workshop of the Month page for details.

Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.

If you didn't catch me live earlier today, you can view it on YouTube now.  If the picture below does not appear, you can click HERE to get to it.

For those of you not into videos, I'll give a brief description of what I did for each project.  First up was a card using the Country Home stamp set.  I demonstrated using watercolor PENCILS with a water pen on watercolor paper.   A few weeks ago, I showed the watercolor pencils on Thick Whisper White cardstock, with the Blender pens.  You get a different end result - both methods are nice, just different results.

I embossed the Whisper White layer with the Tin Tile embossing folder, and I added a piece of designer series paper from the In Good Taste pack. Watercolor the flowers and can, and hand-cut.

Wrap Braided Linen Thread around the Whisper White layer before attaching to the card front.  Pop up the flower can.

REMINDER:  The Designer Series Paper Sale is going on NOW through Oct 31st!  Check it out.  Lots of designer paper packs are 15% off.

Stamps:  Country Home
Colors:  Gray Granite, Whisper White, Night of Navy.
Other:  Stitched Nested Labels dies, Tin Tile embossing folder, Braided Linen Trim, watercolor pencils, Waterbrush pen

Next, I got busy with the Gold Hoops - which is my free gift to you this month, when you purchase $40 or more, using the October Hostess Code.  For this card, I started out with a Pinewood Plank embossed layer...tone on tone, because I think it looks like a front door.  I used Gray Granite for this card.

Attached some Gray Granite Shimmer ribbon to make it like a wreath hanger, and secured that Gold Hoop down with some glue dots.

Then I used the Sprig punch to add several sprigs in Garden Green and Old Olive.  I like having the two different colors.  Three might be even better!  Finished off with a bow tied with the Gray Granite ribbon, and added some silver Metallic pearls.

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Christmas
Colors:  Gray Granite, Garden Green, Old Olive
Other:  Pinewood Planks embossing folder, Sprig punch, Gray Granite Shimmer ribbon, Metallic pearls, Gold Hoops!

Next was a FALL Wreath card - I apologize to those of you watching the video.  I totally ran over my planned time, so I skimmed over this card.  The premise of making it is the same as the wreath above.  I stamped lots of leaves using the Banner Year stamp set and hand-cut them, then arrange on the gold hoop to make your wreath.

For this card, I used Cinnamon Cider for the card base/my front door.  I also swapped out the ribbon for the Embroidered Ribbon from Holiday (Aug-Dec) catalog.

Stamps:  Banner Year
Colors: Cinnamon Cider, Terracotta Tile, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Bumble Bee
Other:  Pinewood Planks embossing folder, 3/8" Embroidered Ribbon, Gold Hoops

Lastly, I dolled up a full-size Kit Kat bar using a single piece of 6" x 6" paper.  Wrap it snugly around the candy bar, and close off the edges.   Then make a tag using the Fancy Tag Topper punch, along with the Old World Paper embossing folder, and Everyday Label punch.

Words are stamped from the To a Wild Rose stamp set.  Stamp them on your card stock first, and then punch out with the Everyday Label punch.  I used Cinnamon Cider ribbon, and the 3/8" Embroidered Ribbon to attach my tag around the candy bar.  Finish with a few In Color Enamel Dots on the tag.

Stamps:  To a Wild Rose
Colors:  Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade
Other:  Flowers for Every Season 6x6 DSP, Cinnamon Cider and 3/8" Embroidered ribbons, Fancy Tag Topper punch, Everyday Label punch, In Color Enamel Dots
