August 2020 Workshop

Yikes!  I updated my Monthly Workshop page here on my blog last week, but forgot to add a regular post so you all would see it...so here goes!

AUGUST Hostess Code:   (Good August 1 - August 29)  Get all the details of this month's Workshop HEREClick on this hostess code, and it should take you to my on-line store with the code already added...(it's a new feature, so let's see how it works).

If you were not able to catch me live, you can click the picture below to view it on YouTube.

If videos aren't your thing, these are the projects that I demonstrated, and more info about each.

First up is this colorful three-panel jellyfish card.  If you are from the East Coast, you know about jellyfish in July and August!  Ouch!!!  Warmer waters in the ocean means more jelly fish.  Eeek!  While I don't like them in real life, I do like this stamp, and I really liked making them all different colors.

This card is a Whisper White Thick base, and the panels are all 1 3/4" x 4".  I stamped them all, then attached to a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of Whisper White, which is popped up on the card base.

Stamps:  Whale Done
Colors:  Magenta Madness or Melon Mambo (now I can't remember!), Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay
Other: Tasteful Labels dies, Artistry Blooms sequins, Whisper White weave ribbon

Next up is one of my favorite projects - a pizza box.  This one has a fun surprise inside!  (HINT:  First 8 orders in August using the Hostess Code get the Anti-bac Hand Sanitizer that I put inside - see my video!).

QUICK numbers for the Pizza Box - Calypso Coral base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score on long side at 1 1/4", 3 5/8", 4 7/8", and 7 1/4". Score on short side at 1 1/4", and 4 1/4".

I love making custom-size boxes, and pizza boxes are great because it's all one piece of paper - just a few folds and snips and it's assembled.

Stamps:  Waterfront, Fancy Phrases
Colors:  Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Sahara Sand, black
Other: Artistry Blooms sequins, Layering Ovals dies, Stitched Shapes dies, Calypso Coral satin ribbon

Next is a Passport Card!!!!  I have wanted to make a Passport card as soon as I saw the Beautiful World stamp set in the new catalog.  I actually used this card as a graduation card for my cousin's son.  My idea was to send the message to get out there and see the world, now that high school is behind him.

I gold-embossed the Night of Navy panel first, then ran that through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder - to make it look like a real passport book.

On the inside, I cut down a sheet of printer paper, and stapled it inside.  I actually went and stamped and wrote on each page of this little book.

Stamps:  Beautiful World
Colors:  Night of Navy
Other: Tasteful Textiles embossing folder, Tasteful Labels dies, gold embossing powder, regular stapler

Last, but not least, I tried out a new technique - Sunbeams!  (I liked this so much, and got some requests for more...so I spent today's video session delving deeper into this Sunbeam Technique!)

The short version of this particular technique is to sponge on colors, covering a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  Then "pull up some of the color" with a wet paper towel, or a wet one, or even a wet q-tip - whatever you have.  I used a ruler here, as a guide.

Stamps:  Whale Done
Colors:  Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green
Other: Artistry Blooms sequins, Banners Pick a Punch

I hope you've enjoyed these projects!  If you have any questions, please send me an email (tonistamps@yahoo.com).
