Birthday Cake in Grapefruit Grove

Don't you just love this Parisian Flourish embossing folder?  It's so much swirly texture!  I started out with the embossed Grapefruit Grover layer glued to a Grapefruit Grove card base.  I really like the tone-on-tone.

Next, get to work on the cake.  I used Watercolor paper, and stamped the cake, from the Happy Birthday to You stamp set, TWO times.  One, to cut just the flowers out, and the other to cut the entire cake/stand out.

Color your flowers and cake first, using markers and an Aqua Painter.  To get a watercolor effect, I colored the lighter colors first, then added water with my Aqua Painter.  Then add some darker colors, and more water as you need.

I cut the cake and flowers out with the coordinating Birthday dies (available while supplies last only).  Layer the flowers on top of the cake with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Then run the Clear Wink of Stella pen over ALL of it!

The tag with the cute Grapefruit Grove mini paper clip (AND the baker's twine) all come from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit (on the clearance rack now!).  The kit has some tags and some doo-dads to put together some nice pieces.   I stamped the greeting using the stamp from the Looking Up Card Kit.  I like the fonts in this set.

Finish off with some pearls.

Do you like it?!
