I decorated this Mini Pizza Box for a golf-themed giftie. These Mini Pizza Boxes are the perfect size for gift cards, cash, jewelry, or other small gifties. They are also coated on the inside, so they are food-safe. There is also a matching 3" x 3" card on the inside.
I started this project by pressing my Sahara Sand ink pad all over the unfolded Mini Pizza Box - this was very juicy. I let that sit for just a minute. Then I took a sponge and rubbed it all over, picking up the extra ink, and at the same time - getting the ink down into the folds. Notice how it kind of looks like suede? I like it! That darker spot is where I hit it with the ink pad one too many times, so it had more ink. Look at how much ink is on the sponge - that was a clean sponge!
It did take a while to dry, but this is the effect I wanted. You can't rush greatness. :)
After I inked the box, I went to work on the belly band. I got a few stamps from Technique Junkies, last week at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. This one is a background size stamp called "Golf Club Patent". It's very cool. I stamped across the Night of Navy Belly Band, in Night of Navy ink.
It wraps around, and secure it on the bottom side. Note how I've got just about 1/4" showing.
To make this belly band for the Mini Pizza Box:
Cardstock: 2 3/4" x 10 1/4". Stamp your belly band.
Score at 1", 2 1/8", 5 3/4", and 6 7/8". Secure on the back side.
I wrapped a piece of Night of Navy Corduroy trim around, and attached with glue dots. In retrospect, the glue dots did not hold well. I would just leave this corduroy off, or use much stronger adhesive. :( But it looked good at first.
Then I built the box topper. I used the largest Stitched Shapes circle die, in Night of Navy. Then I punched out a piece of Sahara Sand with the 2 1/2" circle punch. Stamp that with the Gallery Grunge stamp set, and Sahara Sand ink.
I also stamped the same Golf Club Patent stamp on some Sahara Sand, using Night of Navy ink. Also stamped the sentiment. Hand-cut all of that. The golf club is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. The word bits are on with Mini Glue Dots.
I finished it of with some Neutral Dots that I had from a while back.
Side view -
This is the little card that fits inside the box. It's 3" x 3". Used the same Golf Club Patent set, a greeting, and more of those Neutrals dots. I hand-cut the flag end.
I hope this gives you an idea for how to package your next little giftie!
