Need a refresher for the Black Ice Technique? My very short and quick cheat sheet version:
- Stamp image on foil paper, using Black Staz-on. Let it dry.
- Swipe Black Staz-on ink pad down the foil paper, and along the edges. Let it dry.
- Swipe a Versamark ink pad down your foil paper, and emboss with clear powder. (I do half of my foil at a time, so I have something to hold on to.)
You can really use any color foil paper that you'd like. I've always seen it in Silver foil, but we used Champagne Foil here. I think it pairs very nicely with the Gray Granite.
I brought out the Hexagons embossing folder for this card. One side looks like hexagons, but flip it over and you've got something that is close enough to chicken wire. I swiped my black ink pad over the raised parts - willy nillly, not trying to get perfect coverage. RUSTIC.
I wanted to add a bit of ribbon, so I laid some Black/Silver Striped Metallic ribbon on top of some Gray Granite Textured Weave ribbon - and stapled it to the card stock.
I finished by stamping the greeting on a scrap of Gray Granite card stock, and ripping the ends. RUSTIC. :)
I hope you give the Black Ice technique a try!

This is fantastic, Toni! I love it and will try it with my stamp camp this month. Do you have a blog I can sign up to receive?
