Fall Wreath - my first wreath card
Thank you for visiting my blog! I was very excited to post this tutorial for how to make your own wreath-building template. I hope it's helpful to you. I'm looking forward to making more wreaths using my template!
For this card - I first made the wreath, using the smaller leaf stamp from the Colorful Seasons stamp set. I used Pumpkin Pie for the first round of leaves, then went back a second time with Crushed Curry leaves. I love fall colors, so this was right up my alley.
I added some words from the Tabs for Everything stamp set, in Early Espresso ink. Then I finished my wreath with some old Gold metallic enamel dots.
After I had my wreath layered and glitzed with the gold dots, I flipped it over and tacked on some folded up pieces of 5/8" Burlap ribbon. I used Sticky Strip to hold it down, but you could staple it if you wanted to.
Lay on the Stampin' Dimensionals - this is the back of my wreath layer.
For the background layer, I stamped all of the leaves randomly over the Pumpkin Pie card stock, with Pumpkin Pie ink. Then I ran it through the Big Shot, with the Simple Stripes embossing folder (LOVE THIS thing!). This folder is 6" x 6", which means you can have your stripes going vertically or horizontally on your card. You also get to choose if you want the stripes raised up on the front of your card, or not. I wanted the raised stripes on the back.
When I'm attaching an embossed layer on to the front of a card like this, I like to use the Tombow liquid glue. It's a sturdier hold, because of all the raised bits...mono-adhesive just doesn't cut it.
Once again, here is my finished card.
I'm so glad that summer is over, and FALL is on it's way!!! Can't get here soon enough, for me. :)
Supplies you'll need to create this:

Other: Big Shot, Simple Stripes embossing folder, Stamparatus, 5/8" Burlap ribbon, Sticky Strip, Tombow liquid glue, Stampin' dimensionals, Metallic enamel shapes (gold circles).
