Rainbow Butterfly Chain

Isn't this the coolest?!  I CASE'd (Copy And Stamp Everything) the idea from a blog hop by Dena Rekow.  The idea is to stamp and cut out 6 butterflies, using the Bold Butterfly Framelits.  Fold the butterflies in half, then glue them together by their the tips of their wings.  Then glue to the inside of your card, so it opens up when you open the card.

See the picture here - only the pink and purple butterflies are attached to the inside of the card.

It is a lot of stamping, changing colors, die-cutting, and gluing.  I did use the Tombow Liquid glue to stick the butterflies together.  Little bit messy, but it got the job done.

For the Rich Razzleberry and the Lemon Lime Twist butterflies, I stamped OFF for the base image, then full-strength for the details.  All of the other butterflies are a combination of two colors.

Here is the front of the card.  After I thought about it, a green butterfly seems kind of weird...but oh well.  I like it!  The word stamps that I used came from a Paper Pumpkin kit - Positively Picturesque.  It's still available - both the entire kit (comes with stamps and ink spot), or just the refill ( no stamps, no ink spot).

To make the front of the card, I embossed a piece of Pink Pirouette with the Layered Leaves embossing folder, and added some punched out circles of Rich Razzleberry and Vellum.  Then I popped the butterfly up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card is VERY thick, and a little on the heavy side.  All of those folded up butterflies add up.  It may need extra postage, when I go to mail it.
