Salted Shimmery White background

So pretty!  Salted background made with Shimmery White card stock, reinker, and coarse sea salt.  I used the same process that I did with water color paper, but used Shimmery White card stock.  The Shimmery White does not absorb nearly as much water, and it reacts a little differently with the salt.  It's a really cool effect, regardless.

Here's a closer view.  I used Smoky Slate reinker, and I didn't make it too dark.  I like it!

Re-cap of the Salted Background technique (I changed the steps around from the last time):

1. Put a few drops of reinker on a silicone sheet.  Add a few drops of water from your aqua painter.  It's hard to tell how dark or light it will end up, so you'll have to play with it until you get the shade you want.  Swirl that around with your aqua painter.

2. Wet down both sides of your card stock, with a water bottle spritzer.  BOTH sides.  Wetting both sides evens out the curl, so the paper stays flat-ish.

3.  Paint on your reinker on the paper with the Aqua Painter.

4.  Spray the whole paper down again if it's not wet all over, and then liberally dump on your salt.

5.  Don't touch!  Let it sit over night to dry.  You could use your heat tool, if you're in a hurry.

6.  Brush the salt off.  You make need to run a sanding block over the whole thing, very gently, if there are any bits of salt stuck.
