Gift card box - Oh Happy Day card kit stamps

This 3 1/2" square box will hold a small gift or a gift card!  I ended up with this size, because I wanted to use the Serene Scenery designer paper stack (6x6) for the lid.  The bottom is made from cardstock, so it's sturdy.  I don't like to make box bottoms out of dsp...too flimsy in my book.

Measurements make this box -

Lid:  Cut paper 6" x 6".  **GUESS what???  Using the Serene Scenery stack makes it easy - it's already 6x6.  Score all sides at 1 1/4".

Bottom:  Cut cardstock  5 15/16" x 5 15/16"  (this is a tight box - it's only 1/16 smaller than the lid.  You could go 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" if you wanted a little more wiggle room.)   Score all sides at 1 1/4".

Cut flaps as shown, on both the lid and box bottom.  Same way for both.  This gives you the flaps to fold in.  Use sticky strip to attach the flaps to the inside of the box.  Cutting the angle just makes it a little easier to assemble.

Don't forget to cut a small half-circle on the sides of your box lid, so you can pull the lid off more easily.  I think I used a 3/4" circle punch here.
