Bloggers Challenge - Same but Different

This past week's challenge was to come up with something the "same, but different". So you either had to use the same layout, different colors, or same colors, different layout, or same stamps, different something else. Get it?

Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Brushed Silver, Whisper White

Bloggers Challenge - Fall for You

LAST week's challenge was "Falling for You"...fall or love themed. Well I originally made some scrapbook pages titled "Fall for You", but couldn't find any pictures of me and hubby...so I tanked that idea. So I moved on and made this Halloween (think FALL THEMED HERE...) coaster box for my friend's daughter. I'm actually putting a Boyd's bear in it, with a cute Halloween sweater that I got at Michael's. Got the bear ages ago, and can't find it right now...so just imagine it inside. She'll get enough candy, I'm sure.

Stamps: Vintage Halloween (Artistic Outpost), Other hallween stamps/words (Martha Stewart)

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, halloween print (from Michael's)

Ink: Basic Grey (I would use Basic Black next time to stamp the little girl), Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip

Other: Bind-It-All, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbons, markers, glue stick

Bloggers Challenge - Warhol cards

This week's challenge is inspired by the signature pop art style of Andy Warhol. Bold panels of color! I went with a simple, blank notecard - it was hard enough getting my layers the same. I finally ended up just using a punch, and trimming around.

Stamps: Fall Flair

Cardstock: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black

Ink: Basic Black

Other: 1 3/8" square punch

Halloween Coaster Box

Now wouldn't you just love to get this little box filled with candy for Halloween???!!! I would! I made this with 4" coasters that I got from my favorite bar (unused of course). Use a glue stick to cover the coaster, then lay your trimmed paper on it, and rub all over. Punched on the sides and bottom with my Bind-It-All...makes it so easy and fast. Tie together with ribbon.

I covered the insides with cardstock, and the bottom coaster is just plain cardstock on both sides. I stitched the ribbon through around the bottom, like sewing it onto the box. That went a lot faster than tying ribbon through each hole, like I did for the sides

Papers: Basic Grey (Stampin' Up), Halloween print from a Fall Glitter Stack

Other: Bind-it-All, Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black grosgrain ribbon (SU

It's a Halloween Ornament Card!

I'm so excited about Halloween stuff! I made this cute ornament card by cutting out two circles for the base, and attached them together with a Round Tab punch out of Black cardstock. Attached that to the circles with Sticky Strip.

Cardstock: Only Orange, Basic Black, Whisper White, Ghostly Greetings DSPs

Ink: Only Orange

Other: Only Orange and Glorious Green markers, 2-way glue pen, Embossing Buddy, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, 1/8" hole punch, Sticky Strip, Only Orange grosgrain ribbon

Halloween Coaster Scrapbook

Oh my God! My friend Jamie scored a whole pack of these hexagon shaped coasters from a bar and we immediately put them to use! I made this little mini scrapbook out of them. I traced the coasters onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut out, for the inside pages. Bound it using my trusty Bind-It-All. I love that thing!

Stamps: House of Haunts, Haunting Halloween

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Ghostly Greetings Designer Series papers

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Only Orange marker, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Bind-it-All machine, silver coils

Halloween Treats!

This is a triangle box, to hold some Halloween TREATS! I love making little treaty things for Halloween!

I stamped little girlie here on Glossy White cardstock, then sponged Tangerine and Kiwi around her, and on her dress. Colored in her body/face and hair with markers.

Stamps: Vintage Halloween (Artistic Outpost)

Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Glossy White

Ink: Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss

Other: Blush Blossom and Summer Sun markers, Black grosgrain

Vintage Halloween

I just got this set from Artistic Outpost, and love it! I'm trying out other stamps - trying to broaden my horizons a little, and learn a few new things. I used an old Stampin' Up spectrum pad for this base. Brayered it on Glossy white cardstock. Stamped the image over that in Basic Black.

Stamps: Vintage Halloween (Artistic Outpost)

Cardstock: Basic Black, Only Orange, Old Olive, Glossy White

Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin spectrum (retired SU)

Bloggers Challenge - Color Combo

This week's challenge was to use certain colors (or close to it) - Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, and Riding Hood Red. I was trying to use just black and white cardstock too, so I sponged the edges. I'm not really happy with it, but it's a learning experience...hence, a challenge! Sorry for the blurry picture, but you get the idea.

Stamps: Upsy Daisy

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red

Bloggers Challenge - Labor Day!

This week's challenge was in honor of Labor Day - to make either a Patriotic or Baby themed card. I got this CUTE baby face stamp from Tin Can Mail (found it at Michael's). It's ADORABLE. I immediately thought of those baby pictures that they make them into pumpkins, flower pots, or ladybugs. Too cute!

I made the petals by punching cardstock with the Large Oval punch. Just taped them on the back of the circle face (punched out with my new 1 3/4" circle punch). Double layered the grosgrain ribbon for some extra cuteness. Then I chalked over the face with Blush Blossom (can't really see it, but it's over the entire face except eyes), and then Pretty in Pink on cheeks.
The card is pretty big to handle the big baby flower....6" x 6".
Stamps: Moon Baby (Tin Can Mail), Short & Sweet, Print Pattern Background
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Black Staz-On, Regal Rose
Other: Vanilla wide grosgrain, Pretty in Pink narrow grosgrain, Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware, Ticket corner punch, 1 3/4" circle punch

Snowflaky Snowman

I used a jumbo wheel for the background, then stamped the little snowman head and punched it out. Added rosy pink cheeks with a drop of reinker and a blender pen.

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Ink: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray

Other: Pink Pirouette reinker, blender pen, 1 1/4", 1 3/8", & Scallop circle punches, Stampin Dimensionals

Cheers!

I love this set that I just got! Cheers to you!!! I used all the new In Colors to color everything in. Just a drop of reinker on the stamp case, then picked it up with a blender pen. Works just like a marker.

Stamps: Cheers to You, Canvas Background

Cardstock: Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Ink: Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray

Other: Crystal Effects, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Reinkers (Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette), Ticket Corner punch

Bloggers Challenge - Color Combo

This week's challenge is a color combination - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, More Mustard, and Ruby Red. These are some of my FAVORITE colors! I love FALL, and can't wait to see more of these colors outside. I made two cards this time, just because I like the smaller size...4 1/4" square cards. They still fit in a Medium envelope, so you can mail them.

Stamps: Bella Blossoms

Cardstock and Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, More Mustard, Ruby Red.

Other: Stampin' Dimensionals

New Catalog Unveiling!

New Catalog Unveiling is tomorrow night, but I'm posting our cards early so you all can see what we're making! This window card is using a very cool technique - you color Crystal Effects with a drop of Classic reinker, and paint it on the window sheet (Transparency) with a toothpick. It dries very nicely, and has a cool dimension to it.

Stamps: Bitty Birthday, Canvas Background
Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Baja Breeze, Black Staz-on
Other: Crystal Effects, 1 3/8" square punch, Word Window punch, toothpicks, reinkers (Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango)

This card is a complete rip off from a friend, Connie Babbert. Thanks Connie! This cool scallopy centerpiece is done with our new Scallop border punch! Square is 2 3/4" square, punch the scallop out of just the middle of each side.

Ink: Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette

Bloggers Challenge - Same Layout...different cards

I'm back girls! After 2 weeks of craziness around here - new catalogs arriving, life happening...anyway, I'm back to blogging! LAST week's challenge was to take ONE layout, and make TWO different cards. I took it a little bit further, and used the Cuttlebug embossing folders and Rock & Roll stamping technique on both cards as well. I like the similarities.

Stamps: Wild About You, Bitty Birthdays, Wanted

Cardstock & Inks: Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Ruby Red, Basic Black

Other: Spiral Punch, Cuttlebug embossing folders (one looks like Rivets, and the other is Bubbles)

I made an insert for an acrylic picture frame for my desk! I did crack the top of it a little bit, trying to pull it so I could get the cardstock in between. Oopsie!

Ink: Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, Really Rust, More Mustard

Bloggers Challenge - Christmas in July!

I'm actually cheating a little bit! I made this card for my Retirement Workshop tonight, but it's still Christmasy! I love the Wild Wasabi and River Rock, and will really miss both of these colors.

Paper Piecing

I forgot to post this card from last week. I was showing some friends how to do the Paper Piecing technique. You just stamp the image on some patterned paper, and cut out certain pieces - the body here. You can stick on, or pop up with dimensionals. I colored the rest of him in with my marker.

Stamps: Zoofari, Sincere Salutations

Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, pattern paper from Summer Days simply scrappin' kit

Ink: Basic Grey, Bashful Blue

Other: Silver mini brads, 1/16" hole punch

Bloggers Challenge - Color Combo

This week's challenge was REALLY a challenge. Colors to use were: Really Rust, Regal Rose, Sahara Sand, and Blue Bayou. My first challenge was to find some Blue Bayou! I finally found a small piece. Second challenge was getting through making this card...I really don't like these colors together! I tried to tone down the Regal Rose cardstock, but sponging some Sahara Sand ink on it...kind of yucky, but it's not so bright.

Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisleys

Cardstock: Really Rust, Regal Rose, Sahara Sand, Blue Bayou

Ink: Really Rust, Regal Rose, Sahara Sand

Other: Crafter's Tool Kit, sponge dauber

Coloring Blocking Birthday card

I used the color blocking technique for this standard size card. I was in a colonial color mood for this one.

Stamps: It's Your Birthday (retiring soon!), Spring Solitude hostess bundle

Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red, Whisper White

Ink: Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red

Mini thank you

3" square card. I'm going to miss this Spring Solitude set...

Stamps: Spring Solitude (hostess Level 2 bundle)

Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Bashful Blue, Basic Black

Other: Bashful Blue and Black Gingham ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you mini card

Used up a weird size piece of cardstock for this one. End product is 3 1/2" x 4 1/4", I think. Direct to paper with the orange.

Stamps: Sincere Salutations

Cardstock: Only Orange, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink: Only Orange, Chocolate Chip

Other: 5-petal punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Slit punch, 1/8" hole punch, Chocolate Chip polytwill ribbon, Fire Circle brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Moose Mini card

I'm loving these small square cards! This one is 4 1/4" square. I used a blender pen and the River Rock pad to color in the antlers here, since I don't have a River Rock marker.

Stamps: Moose (from Judith Stamps), Fun & Fast Notes

Cardstock: Basic Black, River Rock, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Grey, River Rock

Other: Creamy Caramel marker, River Rock double-stitched grosgrain

Baby gift card

Did this little baby gift card using Fun & Fast Notes. Colored in the carriage with marker. Card is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".

Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes

Cardstock: Bashful Blue textured & polka dots paper from Summer Days Simply Scrappin' Kit, Whisper White, Bashful Blue

Ink: Basic Grey

Other: Bashful Blue marker, Word Window punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Fun & Fast Notes

I had some fun playing with Fun & Fast Notes. These are all 4 1/4" square cards. I was practicing mixing reinkers with Crystal Effects and painting it on with toothpicks. Decided it wasn't enough of a WOW factor to make it worth the trouble. It's cool, but not cool enough. I do, however, love this technique done on transparencies (window sheets).
Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes
Cardstock: Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Yoyo Yellow, Pink Passion, Only Orange, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Grey
Other: reinkers (various colors), Crystal Effects, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Gold mini brads, 1/16" hole punch

Ink: Basic Grey, Real Red, various markers to color drinks

Other: Real Red marker, Glitter Stardust pen

Bloggers Challenge - Bugs & Insects

This week's challenge was to make something with bugs or insects...I discovered that I have ZERO stamps with bugs or insects, so I had to make one. I used circle punches to make this lady bug. The card is a mini note card...4 1/4" square, I think.

Stamps: Sincere Salutations

Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, some striped paper from an old Simply Scrappin' kit

Ink: Basic Black

Other: 1 3/8" and 1" circle punches, pencil eraser (to make the dots), Stampin' Dimensionals

Bloggers Challenge - Resist technique

This week's challenge was to use any resist technique. I used "Crayon Resist". I stamped swirls in Black Staz-On, then drew all over them with a white crayon. Then I took sponge daubers and smeared ink all over the Glossy cardstock. The crayon resists the ink, so there you have it! Sorry for the blurry pic.

Stamp: Independence Day

Cardstock: Glossy white, Real Red, Brilliant Blue

Ink: Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Black Staz-on

Other: Large and small Tag punches, Large and small Star punches, red/white/blue grosgrain, 1/8" circle punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, sponge daubers, Ticket corner punch, White crayon

Bloggers Challenge - Masculine cards!

I know masculine cards are a challenge for some people, so I hope this week's "challenge" is helpful to you! I actually have two cards for this week. One is a swap card that I made using a cowboy set, and the other is the card that I made for my dad on Father's Day.

Stamps: Bronc Buster, One of a Kind

Cardstock: Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Western Sky Designer series paper

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky

Other: Key Tag punch, Chocolate Chip Polytwill ribbon, Silver mini brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, sponge dauber

This one was for my dad on Father's Day. I used some neat stamps that I got from Close To My Heart, along with some designer papers. I'm irritated that my glue pen shows through the vellum. I later went back and ran the corner of a scrap of cardstock under the vellum, to lift it off the glue...can't see it anymore.

Stamps: Typewriter Alphabet, Library Cards, Postage-something(can't remember the name of it), all from CTMH.

Cardstock: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, retired designer papers (striped vellum)

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel

Other: Creamy Caramel eyelets, 3/4" circle punch, bone folder, sponge dauber

Friday, June 13, 2008

Bloggers Challenge - Color Combo

This week's challenge was to use the colors - turquoise, Green Galore, and any pink. I used some scraps of the pink, and wasn't sure if it would match...but I like it! I've been neglecting my background stamps, so I threw one of those in. Then I DTP'd (direct to paper) the edge of the rose.

Stamps: Crab & Company, Canvas Background

Cardstock: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose

Ink: Basic Grey, Green Galore, Regal Rose

Other: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, & Regal Rose markers; 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" square punches, Crystal Effects (on the eyeballs!)

Bloggers Challenge - Black & White

This week's challenge was to use Black and White ONLY. I decided on a 4" x 4" size for this, and used some of my buttons.

Stamps: Spring Solitude

Cardstock/Inks: Whisper White, Basic Black

Other: Neutrals buttons

Sunday, June 1, 2008

Bloggers Challenge - Animals!

This week's challenge was "animals". I tried to "rock & roll" my lion in Creamy Caramel, and then get the edges only in Close to Cocoa...but I was a little heavy with the rolling. Oops! It's still a neat technique.

Inside of card says, "You're Lion!" I love it!!!

Stamps: Wild About You, Best Friends Lower alphabet

Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Garden Green, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White

Ink: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel

Teacher Gift - Name Frame

Don't know what to get that special teacher? Make a name frame for his/her desk! I used a 5x7 frame here.

Stamps: Live Your Dream, Classic Alphabet

Cardstock: Whisper White, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Afternoon Tea Designer Series Papers

Ink: Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi

Other: Wild Wasabi double-stitched grosgrain ribbon
