Cute as a Bug Projects!

Good evening Crafty Friends!  Today I'm sharing my Cute as a Bug projects from Thursday night.  Note that I only got the designer series papers and Ladybug Epoxy shapes from this Suite.  I figured I could cut any of the cute bugs out directly from the papers.  I think you can use ANY bug or flying critters with these papers.

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously, but I recommend viewing on YouTube.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.

First up is a Center Faux Step card, featuring one of the prints that is a full scene by itself.  I only needed this 4" x 4" piece of the DSP for this focal image.  I wanted a small-ish greeting, so that it wouldn't cover up much of the cute picnic scene here.

Paper Measurements:
  • Blackberry Bliss:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2"
  • Blackberry Bliss:  4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Cute as a Bug DSP:  4" x 4"
  • Cute as a Bug DSP:  2 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 4" (on the back of the card to write message)
  • Basic White:  scrap for greeting
Add a Ladybug Epoxy shape to finish.

Stamps:  Simply Said
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Blackberry Bliss, Basic White, Cute as a Bug Designer Series paper
Other:  Ladybug Epoxy Shapes

Second project is a fun fold that I've made a few times, and I MESS IT UP EVERY TIME!  Hilarious!  I always forget to score that 1" flap on the side.  This is called a Back Fold Card.

Since there are tiny bees in this paper print, I used my Bee My Valentine set to make another bee.  This would be a great place to use any flying critter.  Bee...ladybug...dragonfly.  Whatever you have.

I don't know if you can see the little clear dots that I put on the leaf that is to the right of the bee's wings, and the strawberry behind the bee's butt.  They look like water droplets.

Paper Measurements:
  • Old Olive:  5 1/2" x 7 1/2", scored at 1", 3 1/4"
  • Basic White:  3" x 5 1/4", for inside
  • Cute as a Bug/print 1:  3" x 5 1/4"
  • Cute as a Bug/print 2:  3/4" x 5 1/4", and 2 1/4" circle
  • Blackberry Bliss:  2 1/2" circle
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/punch/assemble bee, and for greeting
Open it up by folding that left edge BACK.

Stamps:  Bee My Valentine, Simply Said
Ink:  Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow, Tuxedo (Memento)
Paper: Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Basic White, Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper
Other:  Bee Builder punch, 2 1/4" & 2 1/2" Circle punches, Ladybug Epoxy Shapes

My third project is another fun fold.  I got this idea from my friend Sue (@KrusinThroughInk).  It's called a Diamond Pillar card, and there are a few different measurements/styles that you can make.  They all fold up to fit in a medium envelope.

The two panels on the back of this card are Very Vanilla, to write your message.

Paper Measurements:
  • Cajun Craze:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 3/4", 2 3/4", 4 3/4", 5 1/2", 6 1/4", 8 1/4", 10 1/4"
  • Cute as a Bug DSP:  (2) 1 3/4" x 4"
  • Very Vanilla:  (2) 1 3/4" x 4"
  • Cajun Craze:  3"ish circle, cut with Stylish Shapes dies
  • Very Vanilla:  2 3/4"ish circle, cut with Layering Circles dies, embossed with Sunflower folder
  • Cute as a Bug DSP:  Hand-cut snail/ladybug
  • Very Vanilla:  scrap for greeting
  • Cajun Craze:  (2) 1" x 1", scored at 1/2" scraps
Here's a top view of this Diamond Pillar fold.

I finished it off with a few of the Ladybug Epoxy Shapes.  Put one on the back too.

Stamps:  Fabulous Sayings (POTM January 2026)
Ink:  Mossy Meadow
Paper: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Cute as a Buig Designer Series Paper
Other:  Stylish Shapes dies, Layering Circles dies, Sunflower embossing folder, Ladybug Epoxy Shapes

My last project is a quilt-like card.  Two of the prints look like quilts anyway, so I just cut some of the strips and laid them down onto a piece of Old Olive.  Emboss the whole thing with the Eyelet folder, and it looks like a quilt.  Use any embossing folder you have that could look like a quilt or stitching.

Paper Measurements:
  • Petal Pink:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Old Olive:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for the inside
  • Cute as a Bug DSP (2 prints):  2 pieces each print, cut approx 7/8" strips.
  • Basic White: scrap cut with Nested Essentials dies
Stamps:  Simply Said, Seasonal Celebrations
Ink:  Old Olive, Petal Pink
Paper: Petal Pink, Old Olive, Basic White, Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper
Other:  Eyelet embossing folder, Nested Essentials dies, Pearls

I've got a couple of fun Birthday Kit projects planned for this Thursday.  Join me if you can, or catch me on replay later!

Love Story Mini Album - Part 2 of 2

I love how the cover of this mini album came together!  I added some Lovely Doilies, and then piled some heart die-cuts and stickers on top.  Finished with some sparkly gems.  I can go with a Valentine theme or just a generic "I love you" theme for this book!

This album is 6" x 9", with a 2" spine.  It should hold 35-40 pictures.  The pages are all 5 3/4" x 8 1/2" (landscape orientation).

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.  NOTE:  Facebook is no longer saving videos longer than 30 days, so if you need to watch an older video - YouTube is your friend.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.

After I finished the Part 1 video in the previous week, I had the base album with all 7 pages glued on to the hinges.  That's where I picked up this week.  I finished the covers/spine, created an inside cover pocket, added dsp layers to the pages, created a tag and an altered paper clip, created some photo/journaling booklets, and then added some of the die-cuts and stickers throughout the book!

I'm going to give all of my cardstock/paper measurements for everything I created in this Part 2 Tutorial, and then some add some pictures.

CS - cardstock
TT - Two-Tone cardstock

Paper Measurements:   These might not go in exactly the same order in the video, but it makes sense to list them this way.
  • Album Front & Back Covers/Spine:
    • Flirty Flamingo CS:  (2) 5 7/8" x 8 3/4", (1) 1 3/4" x 5 7/8"
    • DSP (same print for all pieces):  (2) 5 5/8" x 8 1/2", (1) 1 1/2" x 5 5/8"
  • Inside Cover Pockets:  (same for front and back)
    • Flirty Flamingo TT:  (2) 3" x 9 3/4", scored at 1/2" on 3 sides
    • DSP:  (2) 2 1/4" x 8 1/2"
  • Page Layers:  All DSP, just pick 7 different patterns.  PRIOR to this Part 2 video, I glued most of these page layers on to save  time.
    • (14) 5 1/2" x 8 1/4"
  • Photo/Journaling Booklets:
    • Willow White CS:  (2) 6" x 10", scored at 5" (fold is at the top)
    • Willow White CS:  (2) 5" x 12", scored at 6" (fold is on the side)
    • DSP #1:  4 3/4" x 5 3/4"
    • DSP #2:  3 3/4" x 4 3/4"
    • DSP #3:  2" x 4 3/4"
  • Tag and Altered Paper clip:
    • TT CS:  3 1/2" x 12", folded in half at 6", but then I cut it down to 5"
    • DSP:  anything from your scrap pile
Inside Front Cover with photo/journaling booklets tucked inside.  I added just a few stickers to the pocket.

Photo booklets.  Decorate however you want.  You can put pictures or journaling on, and inside, of these booklets.  The front and back pockets each have two booklets.  Don't forget to add some gems!

I created a pocket with one of the die-cuts, and stuck some of the photo mats inside.

First tag and altered paper clip.  I used just tiny scraps of dsp to doll up that paper clip, added some gems and tied a little knot of Real Red Shiny ribbon on the edge.

Stamps:  None
Ink:  None
Paper:  Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Love Story Scrapbooking Workshop Kit
Other:  Lovely Doilies, Bubble Bath ribbon, Linen Thread, Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems, Basic Rhinestones, Hole Punch Assortment,

After I finished the rest of my pages pockets, and tags - I made a Walk-Through video for the finished album.  I'm working on uploading that now.  If you are subscribed to my YouTube channel (@ToniStamps), you'll get that notification.  Otherwise, I'll share it on Facebook later.  You'll love the finished project!

I hope you enjoyed the creation of this album as much as I did!

Fun Tri-Fold Card from Krusin' Through Ink

After watching Sue's video (Krusin' Through Ink) from last night, I got into my craft room and pulled some scraps that I thought would work.  This fun fold has a tri-fold element to it, along with a base piece (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").

I ended up using a piece of Garden Green Two-Tone cardstock that I had leftover, so my measurements are slightly different from Sue's.

So you make the tri-fold part, then glue the base layer inside....the right side edge hangs off.

Here it is opened up.  I added magnets to keep mine closed.

Paper Measurements:
  • Garden Green TT:  4 1/4" x 12", scored at 4 1/4", and 8 1/2"
  • Pecan Pie:  4 3/16" x 5 1/2"  (You want to start with 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", but take just a smidge off that short side so it fits nicely in between the folds of the Garden Green piece
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Floral Charm DSP:  4" x 4"
  • Woven Textures DSP:  3 1/4" x 4", and 1 1/8" x 4"
  • Pecan Pie:  2 1/2" x 2 1/2", cut with Stylish Shapes dies, embossed with Eyelet folder
  • Pecan Pie & Basic White:  scraps to stamp/die-cut/punch butterfly and greetings
Finished off with some Brass Butterflies.

Stamps:  12 Days of Advent Crafting Calendar, Sketched Butterflies
Ink:  Garden Green, Tuxedo (Memento)
Paper: Garden Green Two-Tone, Pecan Pie, Basic White, Floral Charm Designer Series Paper, Woven Textures Designer Series paper
Other:  Sketched Butterflies dies, Stylish Shapes dies, Double Oval punch, Eyelet embossing folder, Brass Butterflies, Markers, Clear Shimmer brush marker

Love Story Mini Album - Part 1 of 2

Tada!  I know it's just an undecorated album so far, but this is my Love Story mini album base.  I'm working with the Love Story Scrapbooking Workshop Kit to create this album from scratch.  Wrapped chipboard (from Paper Pumpkin kits) covers, a traditional hinge with 1/4" gussets, and pages make this album base.

This album is 6" x 9", with a 2" spine.  It should hold 35-40 pictures.  The pages are all 5 3/4" x 8 1/2" (landscape orientation).  No pocket pages this time, and I'll explain why later on in this post.

I created the BASE of the album in this Part 1 tutorial - wrapped chipboard covers, using the Lay Flat Method created by Country Craft Creations, created the hinges and added pages.  I DID have a whoopsie or two moment when I was creating this base...it happens.  :)  I was able to recover, and still end up with a nice looking album.

I'm going to give all of my cardstock/paper measurements for everything I created in this Part 1 Tutorial, and a few pictures.

CS - cardstock
TT - Two-Tone cardstock

Paper Measurements:
  • Album Front & Back Covers/Spine:
    • Chipboard (from Paper Pumpkin Kits):   the chipboard comes 6 1/8", so I didn't trim that side down at all.
      • (2) 6 1/8" x 9"
      • (1) 2" x 6 1/8"
    • Poppy Parade CS:
      • (2) 8" x 11"
      • (1)  5" x 8"
  • Inside Spine Cover:
    • Flirty Flamingo CS:  5" x 6"
  • Hinge:
    • Flirty Flamingo CS:  5 11/16" x 8 1/2".
      • Score on the 8 1/2" side at  1/2", 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/4", 2 1/4", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2", 3 3/4", 4 1/4", 4 3/4", 5", 5 1/2", 6", 6 1/4", 6 3/4", 7 1/4", 7 1/2", 8"
  • Pages:
    • All made from TT cardstock from the kit.
      • (7) 8 1/2" x 11 1/2", scored at 5 3/4"
    • (4) Flirty Flamingo, (2) Bubble Bath, (1) Poppy Parade
  • Inside Front & Back Covers:
    • Flirty Flamingo CS:  (2) 6" x 8 7/8"
Inside Front Cover -

Album standing up, looking down at all of the pages...so neat!

Pages laying flat.  I did NOT make these as pocket pages, because I was working with the Two-Tone cardstock for these pages.  Two-Tone cardstock is not as sturdy as regular cardstock, so I thought it would be too flimsy to make pockets.  Instead, I glued these pages to the hinges, then together.  The fold is at the top of the pages.  (Watching the video might help this make more sense.)

A closer look at the hinge and how the pages are attached.

Inside Back Cover.

Stamps:  None
Ink:  None
Paper:  Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Love Story Scrapbooking Workshop Kit
Other:  None

Join me THIS coming Thursday (Jan 22nd) to see my finish the covers, add some pockets, doll up the pages with dsp/stickers/die-cuts from the kit, and create some interesting bits & pieces for this album.

Keep in mind that I've got 7 pages in this album.  That's a lot!  The most I've had in an album so far.  I like to have some symmetry in my album pages, so pages 1 & 7 will be the same, 2 & 6 same, 3 & 5 same, and then page 4 is right in the middle.  So I really only need FOUR different page designs.

Tune in on Thursday!

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!

Double Compartment Two-Piece Box - perfect for Valentine's

Good evening Crafty Friends!  I've got another Valentine's project for you tonight.  Remember on Thursday night, I made the pizza box to hold a single cupcake - but I really wanted to make a Double Compartment Pizza Box?  Well the math wasn't mathing, in order to make a pizza box for two cupcakes so I did some different mathing this weekend and came up with a two-piece box that is perfect!

Finished size is 4" x 8" x 1 1/2" tall, and it's got a divider in the middle so you can separate your treats!  If you don't want the divider - leave it out.

Watch my video on YouTube to see how I made this beautiful box.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.

Let's start with a side view of this box.  See how you can see the bottom is a different color?  I love doing that!  The trick is to make the sides of the bottom piece taller than the top piece.

I added designer series papers to the inside of the  compartments.  I think it' looks a little nicer, but you can leave this out if you want.

A close-up of the divider.  It's actually a long piece, scored 3 times and glued in the middle to make that piece stand up.  It's not attached to the sides of the box, so it will/can move - but it's sturdy enough.

Here's the pattern.  One drawing with two different sets of measurements.

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red/Box TOP:  6 1/16" x 10 1/16"  ( I know my picture says 6 1/6"...that's wrong!)
    • Score at 1" on all four sides
  • Made with Love DSP:  3 3/4" x 7 3/4"
  • Flirty Flamingo/Box BOTTOM:  7" x 11"
    • Score at 1 1/2" on all four sides
  • Flirty Flamingo/Divider:  3 7/8" x 10 1/4", score at 3 7/8", 5 1/8", 6 3/8"
  • Made with Love DSP:  (2) 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Flirty Flamingo/Real Red/Basic White:  scraps to die-cut and punch various hearts
I glued all of the hearts on the box top down flat, but you could pop some up if you want.  You could also add ribbon.

Stamps:  Seasonal Stamps, Reason to Celebrate
Ink:  Real Red, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, Basic White, Made with Love Designer Series Paper
Other:  Dashes and Frills Hearts dies (Unity Stamp Co), different heart punches, Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems, Real Red 1/2" Shiny ribbon

Here's a couple of pictures of the prototype for this box.  I used the Cute as Can Bee papers with the same stamps.  Pretty in Pink and Petunia Pop cardstock.

Don't forget that this Thursday, I'll be starting a new Mini Album - this time using the Love Story Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.  I'm not creating the 12" x 12" layouts that they've designed for this kit.  I'm using some of the chipboard pieces that come in our Paper Pumpkin Kits, so the finished album size will be 6 1/8" x 9" x 2".  That 2" spine seems huge!  It's going to hold SEVEN pages!  I've already cut a bunch for this Part 1 video.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!

Made with Love Notes - Valentine 2026 Projects

It's a rainy Saturday here in Maryland today.  Perfect weather for blogging!  Today I'm sharing the projects that I made during my live video on Thursday night.  I decided to dedicate ALL of January to Valentine's projects, and this week was cards and some treats.   I called this video "Made with Love Notes", because I'm mainly using the Made with Love designer series papers, and the Love Notes papers.

I encourage you to grab whatever Valentine, hearts, or Love stamps you have, along with any heart shaped punches, dies, ephemera, doo-dads...whatever you have, grab it and use it!  I pulled out some old Paper Pumpkin stamp sets that were Valentine-themed from 2015!  Hey - if they work, use them!

First Valentine features a neat cardstock strip design.  I used one full sheet of Basic White Thick cardstock to cut all of the white pieces.  I've got the base, then a layer, then five strips.  Stamp each strip with a different pattern and color, and then pop them all up.

Add your die-cut letters on top, and then the white-embossed Valentine's Day strip.

I used five different shades of pink for this one.

Paper Measurements:
  • Basic White Thick:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White Thick:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic Whtie Thick:  (5) 3/4" x 3 1/2"
  • Strawberry Slush:  scraps to die-cut letters and stamp/emboss greeting
  • Strawberry Slush/Flirty Flamingo/Pretty in Pink:  scraps to punch tiny hearts
I finished with a few Basic Rhinestones.

Wouldn't this be cool in black and white?  Or school colors with little graduation hats instead of the hearts?

Stamps:  Reason to Celebrate, Stripes & Dots, Lasting Linen
Ink: Bubble Bath, Strawberry Slush, Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Versamark
Paper:  Basic White Thick, Strawberry Slush
Other:  Alphabet a la Mode dies, Neutrals embossing powders (white),  small heart punch, Basic Rhinestones

Next is a fun treat holder.  I found these cute facial masks at Walmart and grabbed a couple.  This project has a pocket inside to hold your treats.   I added one of the fun Lovely Doilies to the front - so cute!

Finished size is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 1/4".  The spine/fold is at the top.

I used magnets to keep this closed, but you could also use ribbon, or make a belly band.

NOTE:  When I made this live, the measurements I used were for a 3/8" spine.  I've since decided that a 1/4" spine will be better, so I've adjusted the measurements here accordingly.

Paper Measurements:
  • Melon Mambo:  5 1/4" x 10 3/4", scored at 5 1/4", and 5 1/2"
  • Melon Mambo:  5" x 5", embossed with Dotted Circles folder
  • Highland Heather:  5" x 5"
  • Basic White:  4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
  • Melon Mambo:  3" x 6", scored at 1/2" on three sides to make a landscape pocket
  • Mixed Up Patterns DSP:  2 1/4" x 4 3/4"
  • Highland Heather/Melon Mambo/Bubble Bath/Basic White:  scraps to punch/die-cut hearts and donuts
Open it up to reveal the pocket that holds this circle-shaped face mask packet.

Here's a picture showing my prototype - the green one.  I didn't add a spine to that one.  It just folds over....I didn't care for that, so I added the spine.  It's still cute, but I don't like how the cover curves over.

I like having the "conversation hearts" on that pocket.  Those are all glued down flat.

Stamps:  More than Autumn, Bee My Valentine, Cute Conversations (Jan 2016 Paper Pumpkin), Heartfelt Love Notes (Jan 2018 Paper Pumpkin)
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Tuxedo (Memento)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Highland Heather, Bubble Bath, Basic White, Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper
Other:  Dashes and Frills Hearts dies (Unity Stamp Co), various heart punches, Lovely Doilies, Stampin' Blends markers, facial masks (Walmart), Clear Shimmer brush pen, Basic Rhinestones, magnets (check out my Amazon Store link at the bottom of this post to find the ones that I use)

My third project is a shaker card using these ADORABLE Loose Valentine's Assortment (bits and pieces).  This is actually a Faux Shaker card, but instead of a clear envelope for the shaker part - I used one of the Flip Flaps.   I only had 3" x 4" Flip Flaps, and that's not the best size.  I made it work, but 3" x 3" would have been better.

For a Faux Shaker card, you stamp a piece of cardstock and put it in your clear envelope (whether that's a clear envelope or a Flip Flap).  Then add your shaker bits to the front inside of that and seal it up.  Tape it directly to your layer that you've die-cut a shape from, then attach all of that to your card base using dimensionals or foam tape.

Paper Measurements:
  • Pretty in Pink:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  (2) 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Love Notes DSP:  3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
  • Basic White:  3" x 3"
  • Strawberry Slush/Pretty in Pink:  scraps to punch small hearts
I'm going to try to make another one of these Faux Shakers using a clear envelope.  The Flip Flaps are much sturdier and thicker plastic than the clear envelopes and that doesn't lend itself to easy shaking of the bits inside.

Stamps:  Love You a Lot (Apr 2015 Paper Pumpkin), Cute Conversations (Jan 2016 Paper Pumpkin)
Ink:  Strawberry Slush, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Basic White, Made with Love Designer Series Paper
Other:  Dashes and Frills Hearts dies (Unity Stamp Co), Loose Valentine's Assortment, Flip Flaps, small heart punch

My last project was a Pizza Box made on the fly.  Again, I found treats at Walmart...valentine's ding dongs,  I wanted to make a 2-compartment pizza box, but the ding dongs are too big to make that style of box using 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock.  SO, I changed plans and made a single cupcake holder pizza box.

Finished size of this pizza box is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/4".

I decorated the top of the box with a layered heart and some Real Red 1/2" Shiny ribbon behind it.  I popped that heart up.

When I finished this off-camera, I ended up using a 1" circle punch to make a little thumb tab punch out.  It just makes it easier to open the box.

I like to add the designer series paper to both the top of the box, and the inside.  I think it makes it look a little more finished.

Here's the pattern for those of you that like a visual.

Paper Measurements:
  • Poppy Parade:  6" x 10 3/4"
    • On the 6" side, score at 1 1/4", and 4 3/4"
    • On the 10 3/4" side, score at 1 1/4", 4 3/4", 6", and 9 1/2"

I am going to make a separate video tomorrow for the Two-Compartment box that I had originally planned.  It will have to be a two-piece box (lid and bottom, separate pieces), because of the cardstock size needed.  I'll upload that to YouTube and share the link on my Facebook page when I'm finished.  I really want to make a box that holds two cupcakes, separately!  :)

For the next two Thursdays, I'll be creating another Mini Album - this time using the Love Story Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.  I'm not creating the 12" x 12" layouts that they've designed for this kit.  I'm going to make a chipboard cover mini album with at least 4 pages inside.  I think the finished size will be around 6" x 9".  I'm going to use some of the chipboard pieces that come in our Paper Pumpkin Kits.  It's going to be SWEET!

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
