Good evening Crafty Friends! Today I'm sharing my Cute as a Bug projects from Thursday night. Note that I only got the designer series papers and Ladybug Epoxy shapes from this Suite. I figured I could cut any of the cute bugs out directly from the papers. I think you can use ANY bug or flying critters with these papers.
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously, but I recommend viewing on YouTube.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.
First up is a Center Faux Step card, featuring one of the prints that is a full scene by itself. I only needed this 4" x 4" piece of the DSP for this focal image. I wanted a small-ish greeting, so that it wouldn't cover up much of the cute picnic scene here.
Paper Measurements:
- Blackberry Bliss: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2"
- Blackberry Bliss: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
- Cute as a Bug DSP: 4" x 4"
- Cute as a Bug DSP: 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 4" (on the back of the card to write message)
- Basic White: scrap for greeting
Add a Ladybug Epoxy shape to finish.
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Basic White, Cute as a Bug Designer Series paper
Other: Ladybug Epoxy Shapes
Second project is a fun fold that I've made a few times, and I MESS IT UP EVERY TIME! Hilarious! I always forget to score that 1" flap on the side. This is called a Back Fold Card.
Since there are tiny bees in this paper print, I used my Bee My Valentine set to make another bee. This would be a great place to use any flying critter. Bee...ladybug...dragonfly. Whatever you have.
I don't know if you can see the little clear dots that I put on the leaf that is to the right of the bee's wings, and the strawberry behind the bee's butt. They look like water droplets.
Paper Measurements:
- Old Olive: 5 1/2" x 7 1/2", scored at 1", 3 1/4"
- Basic White: 3" x 5 1/4", for inside
- Cute as a Bug/print 1: 3" x 5 1/4"
- Cute as a Bug/print 2: 3/4" x 5 1/4", and 2 1/4" circle
- Blackberry Bliss: 2 1/2" circle
- Basic White: scrap to stamp/punch/assemble bee, and for greeting
Open it up by folding that left edge BACK.
Stamps: Bee My Valentine, Simply Said
Ink: Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow, Tuxedo (Memento)
Paper: Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Basic White, Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper
Other: Bee Builder punch, 2 1/4" & 2 1/2" Circle punches, Ladybug Epoxy Shapes
My third project is another fun fold. I got this idea from my friend Sue (@KrusinThroughInk). It's called a Diamond Pillar card, and there are a few different measurements/styles that you can make. They all fold up to fit in a medium envelope.
The two panels on the back of this card are Very Vanilla, to write your message.
Paper Measurements:
- Cajun Craze: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 3/4", 2 3/4", 4 3/4", 5 1/2", 6 1/4", 8 1/4", 10 1/4"
- Cute as a Bug DSP: (2) 1 3/4" x 4"
- Very Vanilla: (2) 1 3/4" x 4"
- Cajun Craze: 3"ish circle, cut with Stylish Shapes dies
- Very Vanilla: 2 3/4"ish circle, cut with Layering Circles dies, embossed with Sunflower folder
- Cute as a Bug DSP: Hand-cut snail/ladybug
- Very Vanilla: scrap for greeting
- Cajun Craze: (2) 1" x 1", scored at 1/2" scraps
