Happy Sunday Friends!
I am so excited to share this Mini Album with you. I used the Weekend Adventures Scrapbooking Workshop Kit, along with the Weekend Adventures Designer Series Paper AND the coordinating Two-Tone cardstock pack to make this album. I didn't do any stamping, and I didn't decorate the cover.
Most times, I want the cover to reflect the pictures that I have in the album, and I haven't quite decided on which pictures to use yet. This album is 8 1/2" x 8 1/2", with a 1 1/4" spine. It will hold A LOT of pictures! The pages are all 8" x 8", with pockets.
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. NOTE: Facebook has been behaving poorly for quite some time, so I recommend viewing on YouTube. Also, Facebook is no longer saving videos longer than 30 days, so if you need to watch an older video - YouTube is your best option.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.
I created the BASE of the album ahead of time in Part 1 of the tutorial - wrapped chipboard covers, using the Lay Flat Method created by Country Craft Creations, created the hinges and three base pocket pages. There is no blog post for that. The video (with all of the chipboard and paper measurements) is HERE. I suggest watching that first as homework for this Part 2 Tutorial.
I'm going to give all of my cardstock/paper measurements for everything I created in this Part 2 Tutorial, and a few pictures.
I want to point out a couple of things: I have THREE base pocket pages attached to the hinges in this album. Each pocket page has two sides....six sides. I call those six sides PAGES. So, six pages. I created THREE page designs. Pages 1 & 6 are the same, pages 2 & 5 are the same, and then pages 3 & 4 are the same. Same design, same papers, same same same. I didn't want to design six different layouts.
I have three pocket page inserts that can be used to add photos, journaling, ephemera...anything you want.
Finally, I used magnets on several of the pages. You'll see where I placed them in the video. You don't have to use magnets, but I prefer to use them to keep page elements from flopping open. The magnets that I use are in my Amazon Store, linked at the bottom of this post.

I'm using the inside cover pockets to store some leftover pieces of two-tone cardstock that are good photo mat sizes. I only used a few of the stickers and die-cuts. Until I know which pictures I'll use and where I want to put them...I can't willy nilly add ephemera bits.
Stamps: None
Ink: None
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Weekend Adventures Scrapbooking Workshop Kit, Weekend Adventures Designer Series Paper, Weekend Adventures Two-Tone Cardstock pack
Other: None
I am VERY excited to fill this album with pictures and things, and it's going to hold a lot. I'll decorate the cover when I'm at that point.
I think it's a great size album, and you can definitely make this in ANY theme. Check your papers. I will add that I used 12 or 13 pieces of Chocolate Chip 12" x 12" cardstock to make this book. I found it when I was re-organizing, and I love Chocolate Chip. You could get away with 6 or 7 pieces, if you also had 8 1/2" x 11" in the same color, to make the base pocket pages. I only had Chocolate Chip in the 12" x 12", so I had to use it throughout.
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
