Good evening Crafty Friends! Dave had to work tonight, so I've been at home all evening putzing around in my craft room. I'm updating my blog now, and then will hopefully get to watch a Christmas movie off of the DVR...gotta make room for THIS year's new Christmas movies! :) I'm not kidding...
I was working with the Sunrise Sailing bundle on Thursday night. I want you to look through your stash and see if you have ANY kind of boat, ship, or water vessel that you could use if you don't already have this bundle. You can always take these card designs and use what you have!
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously, but I recommend viewing on YouTube.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.
The first project is a card focusing on the die-cut boats and this designer series paper that already has some boats on it. I wanted a very small border for that designer paper. Die-cut the boat pieces out of Secret Sea and Pecan Pie and glue together. Pop them up on the card front.
I ruffled the ribbon slightly on the back of the greeting strip. I absolutely LOVE the In Color Faux Linen ribbon. This is Secret Sea. It drapes so nicely, and it's so easy to work with. Love it!
Paper Measurements:
- Pecan Pie: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Gallery Blooms DSP: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
- Pecan Pie/Secret Sea: scraps to die-cut boats, and greeting strip
Finish with some Low Profile Sparkle Dots in Secret Sea.
Stamps: Sunrise Sailing Bundle
Ink: Secret Sea
Paper: Pecan Pie, Secret Sea, Basic White, Gallery Blooms Designer Series papers
Other: Secret Sea Faux Linen ribbon, Low Profile Sparkle Dots (Secret Sea)
My second card is an easel card using the Everyday Arches dies. I cut Cloud Cover with the largest Arches die, then the Boho Vibes designer paper with the 3rd size down. I meant to use the second size down, but wasn't paying attention. I would have liked a smaller border.
The easel card stopper is 2 pieces of Secret Sea cardstock glued together, then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Paper Measurements:
- Cloud Cover: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 2 3/4", and 5 1/2"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Cloud Cover: (2) 2 5/8" x 4 1/8", embossed with Sunrise Sailing folder
- Cloud Cover: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", cut with largest Everyday Arches die
- Boho Vibes DSP: 6" x 6", cut with third largest Everyday Arches die
- Basic White: scrap to stamp and die-cut large boat and greeting
I ruffled the Secret Sea ribbon across the front of the card to make "waves".
Finish off with some Secret Sea In Color Flat Pearls.
Stamps: Sunrise Sailing Bundle
Ink: Tuxedo Memento, Secret Sea
Paper: Cloud Cover, Secret Sea, Basic White, Boho Vibes Designer Series papers
Other: Secret Sea Faux Linen Ribbon, Secret Sea/In Colors Flat Pearls, Stampin' Blends (browns/yellow), Stampin' Write Marker (Cloud Cover)
My third card features four panels of patterned paper for the background. I stuck with just two patterns, but you could certainly have them all different. Very simple card otherwise. The layered greeting is glued down flat, and the sailboat is popped up.
Paper Measurements:
- Secret Sea: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of the card
- Cloud Cover: 4" x 5 1/4"
- In Color DSP (Cloud Cover and Secret Sea): (2 each) 1 7/8" x 2 1/2"
- Secret Sea: 2" circle
- Basic White: 1 3/4" circle
- Basic White: scrap to stamp/die-cut boat
Add a few Cloud Cover Flat Pearls to finish it.
Stamps: Sunrise Sailing Bundle, Simply Said
Ink: Tuxedo (Memento), Secret Sea, Cloud Cover
Paper: Secret Sea, Cloud Cover, Basic White, 2025-2027 In Color Designer Series paper
Other: 1 3/4" & 2" circle punches, Stampin' Blends (browns), Cloud Cover/In Color Flat Pearls
My last card focused on the embossing folder. I took my Tuxedo Memento ink pad and brushed it directly on the flatest side of the embossing folder, then ran that through with the piece of Basic White. It's an interesting effect, and I'm definitely going to try it on other embossing folders.
I layered the embossed piece on to another piece of Basic White, then tied my gingham ribbon around the whole thing before I attached it to the card base.
Paper Measurements:
- Basic Black: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: (2) 4" x 5 1/4", one for inside of the card
- Basic White: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- Basic White: scrap to stamp/hand-cut greeting
I finished this one off with some Sparkle Gems in Black.
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Tuxedo (Memento)
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black
Other: Sunrise Sailing embossing folder, Sparkle Gems, Black & White Gingham ribbon
I hope you like these cards and can use the designs in your crafting. This coming Thursday, I'll be working with some of our beautiful FOIL papers, so tune in for that! I'll specifically be using the Gold, Silver, and NEW Earthen Toned Metallic papers.
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
