Friends of Unity September 2025 Blog Hop: Anything BUT a Card!

Welcome to the September 2025 Blog Hop, brought to you by the Friends of Unity Blog hoppers!  This month's theme is Anthing But a Card!  I'm happy to have TWO things to share this month.  I love non-card projects!

I ended up using the "Fall, That's All" stamp set for both of my projects.  It's one of Ann Corbiere Scott's Designs that Unity offers.  I love her style!

First up is a cute little tag.  I stamped, watercolored, then hand-cut the pumpkins and banner.  Tag itself is wee tiny.  2" x 2 1/2"!  I've got an embossed layer of purple there, and some coordinating purple gems

I used two different ribbons to add this tie to a bag of candy.  My friend has already received it, opened it, and eaten some.  Success!  :)

Here's a list of everything I used (Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted):

Stamps: Fall, That's All (All from Unity Stamp Co)
Ink:  Timid Tiger, Strawberry Slush, Pecan Pie, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
Other:  Fall Leaves embossing folder (HoneyBee), Delphinium 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Black 3/8" Organdy ribbon, Glossy Dots (Gorgeous Grape), Clear Wink of Stella

My second project is another favorite of mine - a journal/notebook.  I love decorating these things!  I bought a 24-pack of them from Amazon.  If that link doesn't work, you can find the link to my Amazon Store below and it's one of the first items.  Anyway - I love to alter or decorate a notebook.

I started by inking up the front and back (I decorated both sides) with my Tuxedo black ink pad.  Direct-to-paper...slide it all over.

Rip a few different pieces of patterned paper into 1 1/2"ish strips and ink those edges as well.

Dry fit your strips, and glue down starting with the outer-most strips and working your way in so that you are overlapping each layer just a little.

I glued some black trim (from Michael's) to the back of my ripped layered piece before I glued to the front of my journal.  Finish off with a monogram, and a cute little witch's hat.

I didn't add any gems to this because I didn't want it to be lumpy to write on.

Here's a list of everything I used (Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted):

Stamps: Fall, That's All (Unity Stamp Co)
Ink:  Tuxedo (Memento), Chocolate Truffle Amalgam (Gina K)
Paper: Basic Black, Basic White, Hocus Pocus Palette paper pack (Unity Stamp Co)
Other:  Party Alphabet dies, Stampin' Blends markers, Clear Wink of Stella

I hope you are inspired to create some of your own tags and journals!

You probably got here from Amber's post, and the next stop is Joyce's post.  If you want to start at the beginning, go to Crystal's post!  Please hop on through and check out everyone's projects.  This is an amazing group of stampers!
