Congratulations/Housewarming Card

Made this to congratulate a couple on buying their first home!  I added a Home Depot gift card inside too.

I love a square card, and I needed to make this one extra big to hold the gift card.  Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", and I did have to mail it in a bubble mailer...which makes me feel safer anyway, because it will have insurance.  

I started my design based on the piece of Designer paper that I had - it's Mango Melody, and I don't have any more Mango Melody cardstock.  I went with a Thick white card base, and then dragged my Mango Melody ink pad along all four edges of the card front - no one will know!

Lots of layers with this one, but it's really pretty simple.  I did a lot of watercoloring with ink pads and clear blocks.  I smash the clear block into the ink pad to pick up ink, then use a water brush/aqua painter to do the watercoloring.  I used Basic White Thick cardstock - not watercolor paper.  The ink does not move around much, which is what I like.  Ink-blend some Mango Melody around the edges.

White-emboss the greeting and wrap some gingham ribbon around that whole top layer.

Paper Measurements:

• Basic White Thick:  5 1/2" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
• Basic Black:  5 5/16" x 5 5/16"
• Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series paper:  5 1/8" x 5 1/8"
• Basic White:  5 1/4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
• Basic Black:  4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
• Basic White:  4 1/4" x 4 1/4"
• Basic Black:  scrap to emboss greeting

Finish off with some Textured Dots.

Paper: Basic Black, Basic White (Thick & Regular), Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper

Other: Black & White Gingham ribbon, White embossing powder, Textured Dots
