Friends of Unity August 2025 Blog Hop: Technique

Welcome to the August 2025 Blog Hop, brought to you by the Friends of Unity Blog hoppers!  This month's theme is Technique.  That means that you're going to see a LOT of cool techniques from these stampers!

One of my favorite techniques is Color Blocking.  There are a few different ways to implement this technique.  I use my actual clear stamping blocks!

You can either start with your stamping first, or your color blocking.  For these cards, I stamped the images first since they were both background stamps.  Use a waterproof ink, because we'll be adding more water.

I ink up my block in my ink pad, then spritz the block with water.

Flip that over right on to your stamped image.  You don't always get a solid or complete color spot, and that's PERFECT!

For the car card, I used the same clear block for all of the colors.

For the cat card, I used three different size blocks and turned them in different directions to fill up the background.

Pick one of the colors to use as your card base and greeting.  Keep it simple!

Like I said, there are a few different ways to use the Color Blocking technique.  This is my favorite.

You probably got here from Jenni's post, and the next stop is Rachel's post.  If you want to start at the beginning, go to Crystal's post!  Please hop on through and check out everyone's projects.  This is an amazing group of stampers!
