Hello Friends!
Tonight, I used the Wildflower Birthday Scrapbooking Workshop Kit to make SIX 12" x 12" two-page layouts! I completely ignored the instructions that came with the kit, and went free style. The planned instructions were to make THREE two-page layouts, so I doubled the output and used nothing other than what came in the kit. I added no extra cardstock or doo-dads. These are pretty simple layouts, but I do show you how to "splice" papers together to create 12" x 12" pages from different size pieces of paper. Thanks again to Dottie Horsmon (Creative Memories) for teaching me that technique!
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. NOTE: Facebook has been behaving poorly for quite some time, so I recommend viewing on YouTube.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
You'll have to excuse some of my pictures - taking good pictures of 12" x 12" layouts is not easy and I'm not that great of a photographer. Click on the pictures to see a bigger version.
I'm going to list the papers that I cut/used to make each layout. When you watch the video, I go through the measurements as well, and then you'll see what I mean by the names that I've given the designer papers. I did NO stamping for any of the pages. Again - I only used the paper, stickers, and die-cuts that came in the kit.
I also put the layouts together in the opposite order that I cut the papers...so if you want to start with a full kit yourself and make the layouts exactly like mine, start with Birthday Layout #6 first, and work backwards.
Flowers/Layout #1:
Paper Measurements:
- Peach Pie Two-Tone: (2) 12" x 12"
- Pretty in Pink Two-Tone: (2) 5" x 5"
- Willow White: (2) 5" x 5"
- Pool Party Scallops DSP: (2) 5" x 5"
- Flowers DSP: (2) 5" x 5"
Flowers/Layout #2:
Paper Measurements:
- Blue Dots DSP: (1) 12" x 12"
- Willow White: (1) 12" x 12"
- Light Blue Ribbons DSP: (1) 2" x 12", (1) 2" x 10"..which I cut down to 2" x 6"
Flowers/Layout #3:
Paper Measurements:
- Flowers DSP: (2) 6" x 12"
- Pool Party Scallops DSP: 6" x 12"
- Pretty in Pink Two-Tone: 6" x 12"
- Willow White: (2) 1" x 12"
Birthday/Layout #4:
Paper Measurements:
- Willow White: 12" x 12"
- Light Blue Ribbons DSP: (1) 12" x 12", (1) 10" x 10"
- Blue Dots DSP: (2) 4" x 12"
I had ONE sheet of Willow White 12" x 12" left, one 6" x 12" piece of the Flowers DSP, and some strips of cs/dsp. I cut the Willow White and the Flowers DSP into 4" x 6" pieces for photo mats. I went back and added all of the die-cuts, stickers, photo mats from the kit, plus the extra photo mats that I cut.
I have one pink swirl die-cut left. That's it! I love these layouts! I'm going to use them for two separate occasions. Definitely a birthday for the one set, and something Spring-ish for the other set. For now, these pages will go into my "almost-finished" pile. :)
I hope that I inspired you to dig into any scrapbooking kit that you might have and have some fun!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
