One More Year Ideas

Greetings Crafty Friends!

We certainly saw March ROAR IN yesterday - it was so windy here.  We went to play mini golf and luckily got through the whole course just as they closed the place down.   BTW - we tied!  I was up by one point the first half, then Dave evened it out on the second half of the course.

I'm sharing the cards that I made on Thursday night.  These all feature the One More Year stamp set that is currently available in the Jan-Apr 2025 catalog.  I got it because I just had to have the dog and the cake!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.  NOTE:  Facebook has been sporadically giving me fits lately, so I recommend viewing on YouTube.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

First up is the Back-Fold card that I messed up a week or two ago.  I did the scoring correctly this time.  :)  I went with papers from the Timeless Plaid 6" x 6" pack.  I love plaids!  Stamp the dog on Basic White Thick, cut him out.  Then I colored him with a water brush and an ink block.  I squish my clear block into the ink pads to make a palette.

I left very tiny borders with my plaid papers, because I didn't really want to see the Boho Blue card base.  I just wanted to see plaids.

Paper Measurements:
  • Boho Blue:  5 1/2” x 7 1/2”, scored at 1 1/4", and 4 1/4”
  • Basic White:  2 3/4" x 5 1/4", for inside
  • Timeless Plaid (blue checks):  2 15/16" x 5 7/16"
  • Timeless Plaid (blue/crumb cake):  1 3/16" x 5 7/16"
  • Boho Blue/Basic White:  scraps to die-cut labels with Something Fancy dies
  • Basic White Thick:  scrap to stamp/hand-cut dog
Stamp some of the starbursts in Crumb Cake, stamping full strength and then off once.

Emboss greeting with white powder, on a scrap of Boho Blue.  Add some retired Boho Blue enamel dots to finish.

Picture of the card opened up:

Stamps:  One More Year
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Versamark, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Boho Blue, Basic White (thick and regular), Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper
Other: Something Fancy dies, Basic embossing powders (white), In Color Enamel dots

The second card is a Dutch Door card.  You cut the top half of the card front off to create the dutch door.  It's a neat card design!  I went with a birthday theme for this one - adding some punched out balloons to tie in.

Paper Measurements:
  • Daffodil Delight:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".
  • Full of Life Designer Series Paper (same print):  4" x 5 1/4", 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"
  • Granny Apple Green:  (2) 3" x 3", cut with Nested Essentials dies
  • Basic White:  (2) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • Basic White Thick:  scrap to stamp and hand-cut cake
  • Daffodil Delight/Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie:  scraps to punch out balloons
  • Daffodil Delight/Basic White:  scraps to stamp and hand-cut greeting
Picture of the card opened - see how I made the same Granny Apple Green/White squares and layered it perfectly behind.  It's just enough room to write a message.

I colored the cake with some Stampin' Blends, then ran the Clear Wink of Stella all over it.  Added some white highlights to the balloons with a white gel pen.

Stamps:  One More Year
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Azure Afternoon, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Basic White (thick and regular), Full of Life Designer Series Paper
Other:  Cane Weave embossing folder, Keeping Tabs punch, Navy/Gold Glittered Organdy ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Iridescent Foil Gems

My third card was an interesting exercise in figuring out how to make a picnic blanket from paper.  I basically cut a rhombus shape (I think I called it a quadrilateral in the video, and that's just wrong), and fringed the two edges.  Obviously, it's not perfect but it definitely gives you the IDEA that it's supposed to be a picnic blanket.

Stamp and hand-cut the wine/cheese, then color in with a variety of markers.

Paper Measurements:
  • Boho Blue:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White: (2) 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Thoughtful Journey Designer Series paper:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Timeless Plaid Designer Series paper:  scrap to make picnic blanket
  • Basic White Thick:  scrap to stamp/hand-cut wine & cheese
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp greeting
Finish off with some Boho Blue enamel dots, AND some Crystal Effects on the wine glass -

Ink:  Boho Blue, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Boho Blue, Basic White (regular and thick), Timeless Plaid and Thoughtful Journey Designer series papers

My last project is a card using this month's Friends of Unity Blog Hop Sketch.  See my other post HERE, to see the sketch and more info on how you can play along.  I went with the In Colors that will be retiring this year (in just a couple of months actually) - Copper Clay and Wild Wheat.  I thought the Wild Wheat would be a good color for the dog.

Paper Measurements:
  • Copper Clay:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside
  • Copper Clay DSP:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Wild Wheat:  3" x 4 1/4"
  • Wild Wheat DSP: 2 7/8" x 4 1/8"
  • Copper Clay:  2 7/8" scalloped circle, 2 3/8" circle
  • Basic White Thick:  scrap to stamp/hand-cut dog
  • Wild Wheat:  scrap to stamp greeting
Add some Wild Wheat ribbon that's now on the Last Chance list, and some Copper Clay enamel dots (retired).  Dog is popped up.

Stamps:  One More Year
Ink:  Copper Clay, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Basic White, In Color 2023-2025 Designer series paper
Other:  Layering Circles dies, Starstruck embossing folder, In Color Enamel dots, Wild Wheat Rustic trim, Stampin' Write markers (Wild Wheat, Copper Clay, Pretty in Pink)

Join me this Thursday as we make a Star Mini Album, featuring the Floral Delight DSPs.  It's a great project for the Two-Tone cardstock too.   This mini album will hold 14 small photos.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
