Friends of Unity November 2024 Blog Hop - Gratitude!

Welcome to my first project with the Friends of Unity!  This is a monthly blog hop that goes live the first Saturday of every month.  The theme for November is "Gratitude".  I was so thrilled to be invited to join this fabulous group of stampers, and I can't wait to see what the other blog hoppers have created!

My project is a large tag.  A Gratitude tag, if you will.  I LOVE tags because they are so versatile.  Add it to a give bag, tuck it in a journal, give it to someone with a personal message on the bag, add it to your scrapbook, use it as a bookmark, leave it out just to look at...  lots of possibilities.

I started with a Large Kraft tag from Graphic 45.  This thing is huge!  Lots of room for creativity.  I also have the die set, so it cuts the perfect layer with the eyelet hole.  I wanted to use so many different papers on this tag.  I decided to cover a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with all the different pieces.  Kind of a collage.  Cardstock was 4" x 8 1/2"...a smidge bigger than the die.

Ripped papers, and inked most of the edges as I went.  I started at the top and bottom, gluing down my strips.  If you don't like ripped edges, cut yours with clean straight lines.

After I let all that glue dry, I cut it with the Large Tag die.  Inked edges again, then glued it down to the tag.  I stamped two leaves on some wood-grain paper.  Added some Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie color to both leaves.  I started by coloring them with Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers), but that didn't give the look I wanted, so I went back over each leaf and ink-blended those same colors.

Hand-cut both leaves, and glued them to my tag.   I did re-stamp the leaf so I could cut out the hearts and pop them up.  I added three kinds of trim, and then the greeting kind of in the center.  Added some Copper Clay enamel dots.

I didn't stop there though!  I added a gusseted pocket to the back, so I can tuck more stuff in there.  I love pockets!

Thanks for hopping with us!  If you comment as Anonymous, please leave your name so we know who leaves some love.
