Reindeer Days Virtual Card Class - October 2024

Join me for my next Christmas Card Class of the season! I've got a different Christmas Card class planned for September, October, and November. This month's card class features some of the Reindeer Greetings products. NOTE: I did NOT use the Reindeer Greetings stamp/dies bundle. I did not buy that bundle. I am hand-cutting some of the reindeers directly from the paper, when needed for some of the cards. You can certainly use the bundle if you have it, purchase the bundle, or even use something else.

I think you're going to love the cards that I've designed for you!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

Watch the class videos (links below for each Day) for free, and use your own supplies to create your cards. Day 1 Reindeer Greetings Cards!

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

Let's get into it! You will need to watch the video to see how I'm cutting the designer series paper. Which direction the patterns should go, which to cut first, etc.

The first card is an easy way to get both sides of your DSP visible.  Tie some ribbon around.  Add a stamped label with the greeting.  Finish with some Peppermints.  Easy peasy, but I LOVE the colors and the patterns!

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  (2) 4" x 5 1/4", one for inside
  • Reindeer Greetings DSP (blue background/red bells print):  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Pool Party & Basic White:  scraps to cut from Nested Essentials dies
I did pop the greeting label up with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamps:  Greetings of the Season
Ink:  Real Red
Paper:  Real Red, Pool Party, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings Designer Series Paper
Other:  Nested Essentials dies, Sheer & Silver ribbon, Peppermint doo-dads

The second card from Day 1 is a fun Joy-Fold card.  I like turning these sideways.   Again, you're going to use one piece of the patterned paper - cut two sizes.  We're also using the two trees from the sticker sheet.  I popped up the darker green tree.

I embossed a layer for the front of the Granny Apple Green card.  I used the Ferns embossing folder - you may want to use something completely different if you're creating at home from your stash.  Anything goes!  I was going for the look of branches, to tie in with the tree stickers.

Paper Measurements:
  • Garden Green:  4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored at 5 1/2"
  • Reindeer Greetings DSP (trees/trees with deer print):  4" x 5 1/4", and 2 3/4" x 4"
  • Granny Apple Green:  3" x 8", scored at 4"
  • Granny Apple Green:  2 3/4" x 3 3/4", embossed with Fern folder
  • Basic White:  2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp and cut greetings (SAVE THIS LEFTOVER for other cards)
I couldn't stand not having any bling on here, so I added some Basic Rhinestones from my stash.

Here's a picture of it opened - you can also see the deer on that smaller piece.

Stamps:  Greetings of the Season
Ink: Garden Green
Paper:  Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings Designer Series Paper AND Sticker Sheet
Other:  Fern embossing folder, Basic Rhinestones

The third card is SO CUTE!  It's a Mini Slimline Easel card...horizontal.  I made a Vertical Mini Slimline Easel card in my workshop last week, so this week I made it horizontal.  I love it!

I hand-cut this tiny deer and glued on the layered circles.  Greeting is from the Sticker sheet.

Paper Measurements:
  • Garden Green:  6" x 6", scored at 1 1/2" and 3"
  • Garden Green:  3" x 6"
  • Basic White:  2 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Reindeer Greetings DSP (Poinsettia print):  2 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Reindeer Greetings DSP (busy reindeer/birds pattern):  hand-cut one reindeer
  • Real Red:  2" circle
  • Basic White:  1 3/4" circle
  • Garden Green:  (2) 1" x 6", glued together to build "easel stopper".  Add the poinsettia sticker strip down the middle.
Side view so you can see it opened, and how the Garden Green layered strips/sticker hold it up.

Stamps:  None!
Ink:  None!
Paper:  Garden Green, Real Red, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings designer series papers AND Sticker sheet
Other:  1 3/4" and 2" Circle punches

For the final design of Day 1, you'll need to hand-cut another deer.  I've also used this quarter's Paper Pumpkin die set - Merry Tags & More dies.  You have to be a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber to purchase these, so let me know if you need a set.  The tag is a decent size!

Gotta love a good plaid layer!  After I stamped and layered the tag, I glued the reindeer directly to it.  Pop up the tag.  It's an easy card design, but pretty appealing - to me, anyway!

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" for inside of card
  • Garden Green:  3 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Reindeer Greetings Designer series paper (plaid print):  3" x 5 1/2"
  • Reindeer Greetings designer series paper (deer print):  enough to hand-cut one deer
  • Granny Apple Green:  2 1/2" x 3 1/2", cut with PP tag die
  • Basic White:  2 1/8" x 2 7/8"
Add some Peppermint doo-dads.

Stamps:  So Very Merry
Ink:  Real Red
Paper:  Real Red, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings Designer Series Paper
Other:  Merry Tags & More dies, Peppermint doo-dads

Day 2 Reindeer Greetings Cards!

If you were not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

Reminder again - watch the video to see how I cut the DSP, since you will be cutting your own. :)

The first card is very simple - layer of DSP, followed by a Deckled Edge circle, add a sticker, and greeting.  If you don't have the stickers, substitute for any stamped image that you can create from your stash.

Paper Measurements:
  • Garden Green:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside
  • Reindeer Greetings DSP (ornaments print):  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  approx 4" x 4", cut with Deckled Circles die
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/cut greeting
The only thing that I popped up was the greeting.  I had ALL intentions of ink-blending the edge of the Deckled Circle piece, but totally forgot while I was creating this live.

Stamps:  Trucking Along
Ink:  Garden Green
Paper:  Garden Green, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings Designer Series Paper AND Sticker sheet
Other:  Deckled Circle dies, Basic Rhinestones

The second card is a fun regular Slimline, with three hand-cut reindeers.  Again - if you have a reindeer set with dies or a punch - feel free to substitute.  I glued the reindeers flat to three circles of Granny Apple Green.  Pop the circles up.  I love the presents print - it adds bits of color.

Paper Measurements:
  • Granny Apple Green:  8 1/2" x 7", scored at 3 1/2"
  • Basic White:  3 1/4" x 8 1/4"
  • Real Red:  3 1/4" x 8 1/4"
  • Reindeer Greetings Designer Series paper (presents print):  3" x 8"
  • Reindeer Greetings Designer Series paper (deer print):  enough to cut out 3 deer
  • Granny Apple Green:  (3) 2 1/4" circles, embossed with Eyelet folder
  • Basic White:  scrap from yesterday to stamp and hand-cut greeting
Add some Peppermint doo-dads.   Close-up so you can see more details of the embossed circles.  I used the Eyelet folder, but you could use anything that you have really.

Stamps:  Throughout the Year
Ink: Real Red
Paper:  Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings Designer Series Paper
Other:  Eyelet embossing folder, 2 1/4" Circle punch, Peppermint doo-dads

The third card is a neat looking quarter-panel design.  You'll need two pieces of the Reindeer Greetings designer series paper, and cut them both into quarters.  Alternate the patterns for a nice visual effect.  You may have to switch your papers around, so you can see some of the reindeer or whatever you want showing.

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  (2) 4" x 5 1/4", one for the inside
  • Reindeer Prints DSP (plaid and small reindeer print):  (1 each) 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Real Red:  2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Basic White:  2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Pop the greeting up.  Finish off with a few Peppermind doo-dads.

Stamps:  Greetings of the Season
Ink:  Garden Green
Paper:  Real Red, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings designer series papers
Other:  Peppermint doo-dads

For my last card, I've got a Tri-fold card.  I love this design, even though it takes up most of an entire sheet of cardstock for the base.  It's worth it though!  Again, I'm using the Merry Tags & More dies that coordinate with the Oct/Nov/Dec Paper Pumpkin kits.  I'm using another one of the stickers from the pack - you should have two reindeers left to choose from.

Paper Measurements:
  • Early Espresso:  5 1/2" x 11", scored at 3 3/8" from each end
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" for inside of card
  • Garden Green:  3 1/8" x 5 1/4"
  • Reindeer Greetings DSP (blue background print):  3 1/8" x 5 1/4"
  • Crumb Cake:  2 3/4" x 4", cut with Tag die
  • Crumb Cake:  2 1/8" x 2 7/8"
  • Real Red:  scrap to die-cut "merry"
Add some Peppermint doo-dads (I did that after I took this picture).

Stamps:  None
Ink:  None
Paper:  Early Espresso, Garden Green, Real Red, Basic White, Reindeer Greetings Designer Series Paper AND Sticker Sheet
Other:  Merry Tags & More dies, Peppermint doo-dads
