Let's Chat (the stamp set!)

Hello Crafty Friends!

Guess who totally forgot to update their blog this weekend?  This gal!  I made these cards on Thursday night using the Let's Chat stamp set from the Jan-Apr 2024 Catalog.  Unfortunately, it's not carrying over to any catalog or online, so get it by 4/30/2024 if you like it! There are no dies with this set, but it's not too terribly bad to fussy-cut the pieces.

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

My first card is a big one - 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", and it's a WOBBLER!  Yes, the entire telephone is on a wobbler.  I love those things!   I wanted a large card, because that gives a lot of room to write.  Plus this telephone seems so big, I thought a larger card would carry it.  I'll have to make my own envelope, but that's definitely doable.

I always get asked - where do I get my wobblers?  Here you go:
Action Wobbles Mini – 100 pack:  https://amzn.to/3AG9nO0  I thought was the best value.  You could get a 48 pack for $13, or 100 for $19.

Use the telephone cord to stamp a fun background.

Paper measurements:
  • Berry Burst:  5 1/2" x 11”, scored and folded at 5 1/2”
  • Masterfully Made Designer series paper:  5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  5 1/4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
  • Berry Burst:  3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Basic White:  3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/hand-cut telephone and greeting bit
Finish off with some Iridescent Pastel Gems

Stamps:  Let's Chat
Ink:  Pretty Peacock, Berry Burst
Paper: Berry Burst, Basic White, Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper
Other:  Iridescent Pastel Gems, Wobbler

The second card is a Circle Easel card.  SO cool!!!  You can make an easel card with ANY shape.  This is how it looks flat - and this just under a 4 1/4" circle, so it WILL fit into a medium envelope.  Stamping and hand-cutting all of the telephone pieces was the hardest part about this card...only because fussy-cutting can be a little tedious.  I got through cutting all of these pieces, but I don't think I would have been able to make more than one of these cards at a time.

Coffee cup is cut directly from a piece of designer series paper.

Paper measurements:
  • Lost Lagoon:  (3)  4 1/4"ish x 4 1/4"ish circles  (You need 3 pieces to make the easel card base)
  • Basic White:  4"ish circle, for inside of card
  • Little Latte Designer series paper:  4"ish circle, plus 1 coffee mug to cut out
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/cut telephone pieces and greeting

Here's what it looks like standing up front and then back - watch the video to see how to assemble all these pieces.

Back side shows you the scores, so the card opens up and still lays flat.

Stamps:  Let's Chat, Latte Love
Ink:   Lost Lagoon
Paper:  Lost Lagoon, Basic White, Latte Love Designer Series paper
Other:  Circle cutting system (Creative Memories), Pastel Iridescent Gems
