Birthday Projects! Fun and cute things to make for birthdays, or any parties!

Do you love to make your own party packaging/gifts, favors, or little treats?  I do!  Sometimes I need to whip up a little something, and these are perfect!  I hope you find something that you can use in your own craft projects.  Title says Birthday Projects - but really...you change up the papers/stamps/colors and these are good for ANY theme or event.

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

The first project is what I call a "Birthday in a Bag".  Take a bag of any kind - I used a flat cellophane bag here.  You could also use a gusseted bag.  Whatever you can find.  Put some stuff in it, and make a topper.  I wrapped a Birthday Cake Kit Kat bar with some designer series paper.  You could doll it up even more, but that's all I did.  Keep it simple.  Also perfect for adding a cake in a mug packet.  Add a candle and balloon, and some candy.  I will also be adding some scratcher tickets in here before I send it off.

Fold the cello bag over and staple shut, then add your Bag Topper.

Paper measurements:
  • Lemon Lime Twist:  5" x 6", scored in half at 2 1/2"
  • Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper:  2 1/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Berry Burst: 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • Basic White:  1 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • Basic White & Berry Burst:  scraps to stamp/cut/die-cut present and bow
  • Bright & Beautiful DSP (to wrap Kit Kat):  4" x 6"
I combined the Biggest Wish and More Wishes stamp sets for the greeting.  Stamp "WISHES" in Bubble Bath first, because it's lighter.  Then stamp "birthday" overlapping it in Berry Burst.

Pop the present up.  Color the bow with Clear Wink of Stella.

Finished off with some Iridescent Foil gems.

Stamps:  Sending Cheer bundle, Biggest Wish, More Wishes
Ink:  Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Bubble Bath
Paper: Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Basic White, Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper
Other:  Iridescent Foil Gems, Clear Wink of Stella brush

Second project is a couple of Cupcake Toppers!  These are SO CUTE!  You're basically sandwiching a toothpick between cardstock, and then decorating the front.  I punched out two pieces of Bubble Bath cardstock with the Decorative Circle Punch.  Glue the toothpick down to one side, then add a LOT of glue and layer the second punch out on top.  Line them up.

Add two more circle layers, and then a focal image that is popped up.  You could also add names, or tiny words.  Whatever will fit.

How cute would these be for graduation parties?  Baby showers?  Bridal showers?  Kids parties?  Any kind of party!

Paper measurements:
  • Lemon Lime Twist/Bubble Bath:  (2) Decorative Circle Punch outs each
  • Misty Moonlight/Basic Black:  2" circles
  • Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper:  1 3/4" circles
  • Basic White/Basic Black/Bubble Bath:  scraps to stamp/cut/punch/assemble cake and ladybug

Finish off both with some Iridescent Rhinestones.

Stamps:  Circle Sayings, Hello Ladybug
Ink:  Onyx Versafine, Tuxedo Memento
Paper:  Lemon Lime Twist, Misty Moonlight, Bubble Bath, Basic Black, Basic White, Bright & Beautiuful Designer Series paper
Other:  Decorative/2"/1 3/4" Circle punches, Ladybug punch, Iridescent Rhinestones, Clear Wink of Stella brush

Third project is a Cake topper.  Same concept as the Cupcake Toppers, but bigger.  Use the extra long picks instead of regular toothpicks.  I advised everyone to consider the size of the cake when making this.  You don't want your topper to be bigger than your cake.

To make this Cake topper more sturdy, when you push it into your cake - use TWO picks, not just one.  Again, sandwich these in between two layers first.

Paper measurements:
  • Starry Sky:  3 1/2" x 5", 2 pieces cut with largest Countryside Corners die
  • Starry Sky:  3" x 4 1/2", cut with second largest Countryside Corners die, embossed with Exposed Brick folder
  • Brushed Gold Foil: 3 1/4" x 3 1/2", cut with Happy Birthday die
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/cut bird
Glue Happy Birthday down flat, and then pop up bird.   I used Stampin' Blends to color birdie in, but you can use whatever coloring tools you have.  I did add Wink of Stella on his glasses.

Finished off with some old In Color Dots.

Stamps: Birds Eye View
Ink:  Onyx Versafine
Paper:  Starry Sky, Basic White, Brushed Gold Foil
Other:   Happy Birthday die (retired), Exposed Brick embossing folder, Stampin' Blends (Starry Sky/Orchid Oasis/Balmy Blue), Clear Wink of Stella, In Color Dots (retired)

The last project is a Tri-fold Window card.  This was the same design as the card I shared when Sue & Gail were my Guest Stampers (on 12/20/2023).   After I made this live during the video, I went back and added the "th" stamp and two more balloons.

This card is 4" x 6" finished size.

You want to attach the piece of DSP to the card front FIRST, then run it through and die-cut the circle so it cuts out of both.

You'll need a stamping positioner of some kind - Stamparatus or MISTI, so you can stamp the "50" in the center of the circle on the inside panel.

Paper measurements:
  • Night of Navy:  6" x 8 1/2", scored at 4", and 8"
  • Navy Designer Series Paper:  3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Basic White:  3 3/4" x 5 3/4", for inside of card
  • Celebrations Acetate: 3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Night of Navy: 7/8" x 6"
  • Navy Designer Series Paper:  5/8" x 5 3/4"
  • Brushed Gold Foil/Basic White:  enough to die cut Happy Birthday twice and stamp/cut balloons
When you first open it - you can see that I added a small pocket on that left-most flap and tucked in some money.  You could also add a gift card.  Also notice the Acetate panel.  It's taped to the 1/2" flap, then covered by the 7/8" x 6" strip of Night of Navy cardstock, then DSP layered on.

Opened all the way -

Added some gold Baker's Twine and Champagne Rhinestones to the front of the card.  Popped up a couple of the balloons.

Stamps:  Beautiful Balloons bundle, Large Numbers, Number of Years
Ink:  Night of Navy
Paper:  Night of Navy, Basic White, Brushed Gold, Regals Designer Series Paper, Celebrations Acetate
Other:  Layering Circles dies, Happy Birthday die, Gold Baker's Twine, Champagne Rhinestones

I hope you found something that you will copy!
