Hello Crafty Friends!
If you didn't catch me live on Thursday night, please check out the video linked below. I had a BLAST stamping live with my friend Gail! We met at Stampin' Up Convention in Las Vegas, back in 2001. It was my very first convention, and I met her a bunch of other gals that I still consider some of my besties! We've had plenty of fun over the years, and Thursday night was no exception.
The idea for this week's stamping adventure was that we picked two stamp sets that we both had and did two cards each. Of course, plenty of talking and laughing happened during our filming. We each came up with completely different cards, and I think you'll love them all!
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
We chose Cheerful Daisies for our first stamp set. It's one from the New Annual catalog that we both had. I demonstrated my card, and of course there were some mishaps. :) It happens every time. See that I also brought in a new background stamp - Sketched Plaid.
I stamped the largest daisies and embossed the outline image in white. Cut those out, along with some greenery and punched some Granny Apple Green with the Bough punch. The Melon Mambo daisy is glued down flat, and the other two are popped up.
Paper measurements:
- Lemon Lime Twist: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Lemon Lime Twist: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Lemon Lime Twist: 3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Melon Mambo/Pumpkin Pie/Azure Afternoon: scraps to stamp and die cut largest daisy
- Lemon Lime Twist/Granny Apple Green: scraps to die cut and punch leaves and boughs, and die cut greeting label
I added some Tinsel Gems in a few different colors, and finished off with some of the Brass Butterflies.
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies bundle, Sketched Plaid
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Azure Afternoon, Versamark
Paper: Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green, Basic White
Other: Bough punch, Basics embossing powder (white), Tinsel Gems Four-pack, Brass Butterflies
After my demonstration, then Gail came on and showed us her card that she made ahead of time with the Cheerful Daisies bundle. This is a cool fold! It's actually a standing 4 1/4" x 11" card base, with a whole extra layer of mountain/valley attached to the front. Please watch the video to see Gail talk about this one!
Stamp the greeting directly on that piece of Fresh as a Daisy Designer series paper. All of the daisies are die-cut and layered together.
Paper measurements:
- Wild Wheat: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
- Basic White: 4" x 9 3/4", scored at 2 1/4" and 4 1/2"
- Fresh as a Daisy DSP: 3 3/4" x 5", and (2) 3 3/4" x 2"
- Pretty Peacock: scraps for sprigs
- Lemon Lolly, Crushed Curry: enough to die cut all the daisy layers
Tuck some die cut sprigs in behind the layered daisies.
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies Bundle, Biggest Wish
Ink: Tuxedo Black
Paper: Wild Wheat, Lemon Lolly, Crushed Curry, Pretty Peacock, Basic White, Fresh as a Daisy Designer series paper
Other: Crushed Curry marker
Gail also demonstrated the Bleaching Technique with this card. This was SO cool to see the bleaching in action! One thing she pointed out is that you want to clean your stamps right after you use them with bleach. Don't let them sit.
After bleaching, she did some ink blending with Night of Navy around the edges. Then added some die-cut snowflakes and rhinestones to bling them up.
Paper measurements:
- Basic White Thick 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Night of Navy: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Boho Blue: 3 3/4" x 5"
- Basic White: scrap to die cute label
She also ran the Clear Wink of Stella around the edge of the greeting label.
Stamps: Season of Chic bundle, Brightest Glow
Ink: Night of Navy, Azure Afternoon
Paper: Basic Black, Basic White, Holographic Foil, Stargazing Designer series paper
Other: Nested Essentials dies, White with Silver edge ribbon, Clear Wink of Stella marker, Basic Rhinestones. BLEACH!
For our last project, I came back in to show my card made with the Season of Chic bundle. I went with my favorite - FALL theme! Copper Clay and Wild Wheat really go well together. This is a Tri-Fold card. Finished size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Random stamping on the Basic White layer. You can't tell, but I used the Stitched with Whimsy dies on the white layer, on all the edges...then I stamped over top of it. It gets lost, even looking at it in person. :(
Add a bow tied with the In Color Jute (Wild Wheat).
Paper measurements:
- Wild Wheat: 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 3 3/8" and 7 5/8"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Copper Clay: 3 1/8" x 5 1/4"
- Copper Clay DSP: 2 7/8" x 5"
- Wild Wheat DSP: 3 1/8" x 5 1/4"
- Wild Wheat: 3" x 4 1/2"
- Copper Clay: 2 7/8" x 4 3/8"
- Basic White: 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
- Copper Clay/Wild Wheat/Basic White: scraps to stamp and die cut leaves and greeting
Picture of the inside. I added a few of the die-cut leaves to the inside.
Finish off with a few In Color Dots.
Stamps: Season of Chic bundle
Ink: Wild Wheat, Copper Clay
Paper: Wild Wheat, Copper Clay, 2023-2025 In Color Designer Series papers, Basic White
Other: In Color Dots
