Hello Crafty Friends!
If you were able to join me on Thursday to make this easy folio, thank you! If not - watch when you have time. This is a fun project perfect for ANY occasion. Add pictures if you want to. Add more journaling. Add gift cards. Fill it with whatever you want to share with a special person. I got this idea from Tiffany over at @LetsGetScrappy on YouTube. She's got a lot of amazing folio and mini album ideas.
The Sea Turtle folio was my prototype, and I made the brown/blue version during my live video. For that one, I used one of the cards from May's Paper Pumpkin kit - Exploring In Color.
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
I'll share measurements and pictures of the Paper Pumpkin Folio first, then share pictures of the Sea Turtle folio. You will need to watch the video for assembly.
The base of the folio is made from one sheet of cardstock, then we'll add a flip out and at least one pocket.
Finished size of the folio is 4 3/4" x 6". There's a 1/4" spine on the left, and a 1/8" spine on the right.
This is the front cover. Note that I didn't add any stamped bits to the cover. I've got some Wavy Trim to tie the folio closed, and added some of the newest In Color Gems. You'll want to glue down your ribbon/trim before you add your layered panels to the front and back of the folio.
Open it up and you see a pocket on the left. This is a full size pocket. You've got the Flip Out on the right side. The flip out is glued to the 1 1/8" strip at the very end of the folio base. I do use magnets to close the Flip Out.
Open the right side again, and you see the center panel with the 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" strip of DSP as a flat pocket. The DSP was glued down directly to the Basic White panel on 3 sides, making a flat, tight pocket. Also notice the Flip Out was also glued only on 3 sides to make another tuck spot there.
Flip out opened - If you wanted both pieces on the inside to be white, go for it!

Here are pictures of my Sea Turtle prototype folio. The only real difference here is a bigger Flip Out, and I used more magnets to close the folio instead of ribbon.
No pocket on the center panel here.
I hope you enjoy these folios and are tempted to make one or two! They're a good size to mail to someone too!
