Let's take a look at the cards! Most of these napkins actually came from my Mom's house. She would love knowing that they are being put to good use! Day 1 is all about my Mom's napkins - flowers and LOTS of purples. Day 2 is all about my favorites - Fall!
First card is a large one - 5" x 7". I've got two layers of Fresh Freesia on an Orchid Oasis card base. These colors really go well with the napkin. Notice how I tried to mimic the corner of the napkin on my greeting panel? I really want to say what kind of flowers these are....but I don't know. :( I'm not good with flowers. If you know, please leave me a comment and tell me. I appreciate the help!
Paper measurements:
- Orchid Oasis: 7" x 10", scored and folded in half at 5"
- Fresh Freesia: 4 3/16" x 6 3/16"
- Fresh Freesia: 4" x 6"
- Basic White & Adhesive Sheet: 4" x 6". You'll trim this down to 3 3/4" x 5 3/4", after you apply your napkin.
- Basic White: 4 3/4" x 6 3/4", for inside of card
- Orchid Oasis: 1 1/2" x 4"
- Basic White: 1 5/16" x 4 7/8"
Stamp your greeting, and trim down if needed before you mount to the Orchid Oasis layer. I added foam tape in between the Fresh Freesia layers to pop it up. Add some of the Balmy Blue sequins.
Next up is a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square card with a raised up greeting. After you make the card, lay it on top of your envelope, so you know how far up you can attach the greeting piece.
After I mounted this napkin on to Basic White, I embossed the entire layer with clear embossing powder. I really love doing this to all my napkin cards, but I'm only doing it on a couple of these to show you. It gives a beautiful finish.
- Just Jade: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Highland Heather: 4" x 4"
- Basic White: 4" x 4", for inside of card
- Basic White & Adhesive Sheet: 3 3/4" x 3 3/4", mount your napkin to these
- Just Jade/Highland Heather/Basic White: scraps to punch out circles for greeting
Finish off with some of the Balmy Blue gems. They pick up the green and match perfectly. This shows a close-up of the clear embossed napkin.
Third card is a Very Vanilla base with a mauve/burgundy/pink print napkin. I stamped my greeting in Moody Mauve. If you don't have that color, I suggest you emboss your greeting in gold. That would be beautiful!
Paper measurements:
- Very Vanilla Thick: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Very Vanilla & Adhesive Sheet: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Very Vanilla: scrap to punch Lasting Label for greeting
Add some gold ribbon behind your popped up greeting, and glue on some of the Gold gems.
Lastly for Day 1, we've got a GORGEOUS tri-fold card in Gorgeous Grape. I tell you - these napkins from my Mom's stash are amazing! I also show you how to use magnets on this card to keep it closed. Magnets WILL BE INCLUDED in your class packet! I want you to try them out. I'm so glad my friend turned me on to these little things.
- Gorgeous Grape: 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 3 3/8", 7 5/8"
- Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Gorgeous Grape: 3 1/8" x 5 1/4", embossed with Timeworn Type folder
- Very Vanilla & Adhesive Sheet: 3 1/8" x 5 1/4", to apply napkin
- Gorgeous Grape: 2 1/4" x 2 3/4"
- Very Vanilla: 2" x 2 1/2", for greeting
Card opened. You could even add a pocket inside one of these flaps.
Paper measurements:
- Copper Clay: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Very Vanilla & Adhesive Sheet: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Very Vanilla: 2" x 5" for greeting. Trim it down to what you need.
Finish with some of the Calypso gems. They go with the oranges perfectly!
I love the all-over print in this napkin. Colors perfectly coordinate with some of our new colors - Pecan Pie and Copper Clay! I bought these napkins last year - the fact that go together so well is pure luck!
Paper measurements:
- Pecan Pie: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Copper Clay: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Basic White & Adhesive Sheet: 3 3/4" x 5"
- Vellum & Adhesive Sheet: 3" x 4 1/4"
Add some of the Gold gems.
Next project is a slim line card. This napkin was from my Mom's stash also. I remember she texted me a picture of these, and said, "Toni, this is the only Fall color palette that I really like." HA! Fall was NOT her favorite. She said the colors were depressing. Well, her Fall napkins made the cut, and I'm glad to share with you. I had to use a retired color, Mint Macaron, because it matches perfectly.
Finished size of this card is 3 3/4" x 9". That is because I found just the right number of envelopes in my stash that are 4" x 9 1/2".
Paper measurements:
- Petal Pink: 7 1/2" x 9", scored and folded in half at 3 3/4"
- Mint Macaron: 3 1/4" x 8 1/2"
- Basic White: 3 1/2" x 8 3/4", for inside of card
- Basic White & Adhesive Sheet: 3" x 8 1/4"
- Petal Pink/Basic White: scraps to punch out with Double Oval punch for greeting
I embossed the entire napkin panel piece on this one with Clear powder before I put the card together. Love that shine! Sometimes, it picks up the texture of the napkin and that's a neat look too.
Just look at this gorgeous giant pumpkin! Last card is a 5" x 5" Square card. I made an envelope for this card with an entire sheet of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and my Envelope Punch Board. It will cost extra postage to mail it, but it's just too beautiful NOT to share this with someone!
- Early Espresso: 5" x 10", scored and folded in half at 5"
- Crumb Cake: 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
- Basic White & Adhesive Sheet: 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
- Basic White: 4 3/4" x 4 3/4", for inside of card
- Pumpkin Pie: 2" x 3 1/4"
- Early Espresso: 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
I stamped the greeting and trimmed it down. Mount to Early Espresso and trimmed that down as well. Finish with some of the Calypso gems.
