January 2023 Virtual Workshop - Country Bouquet

Hello Friends and Happy New Year!

Welcome to my first Virtual Workshop for 2023.  I'm featuring the Country Bouquet bundle, and I intend to show you that it's not just for Valentine's!

Check out my Workshop of the Month page for details about my workshop - ordering and freebie info.

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

First project is a fun tri-fold card that shows off both sides of this great designer series paper.  A quarter sheet of Calypso Coral is the base, then the designer series paper is folded and mounted to that - add your ribbon BEFORE you attach these together, so it's sandwiched in between.

Paper measurements:
  • Calypso Coral:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Dandy Designs Designer series paper:  5 1/4" x 11 7/8", scored at 4" and 8".  You NEED to cut off that 1/8" so that it lays flat when you fold it in.
  • Basic White:  3 3/4" x 5", for inside of card
  • Calypso Coral:  2 15/16" x 4 3/16"
  • Basic White:  2 3/4" x 4"
  • Calypso Coral: scraps to die cut letters
  • Basic White:  scrap to die-cut label

Here's the card open - you could certainly add some mini envelopes to the flaps to make pockets to hold gift cards, money, tickets, ephemera...whatever will fit.

Finished off with some Iridescent Rhinestones.  Iridescent Pastel Gems will be included in your make-n-take kit.

Stamps:  Country Bouquet bundle
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green
Paper: Calypso Coral, Basic White, Dandy Designs Designer series paper
Other:  Alphabet a la Mode dies, Wonky Stitched dies, Floral Gallery dies, Pale Papaya 3/8" Sheer Woven ribbon, Iridescent Rhinestones

Second project is a tone-on-tone with different patterns.  Die cut the "thanks" and layer it.  Stamp some heart flowers to add, and this card comes together very quickly.

I don't usually cover an entire card front with designer series paper, because frankly - it's not the most economical use of your designer series papers.  It HAD to be done for this card though.  I did not want any border, so the designer series paper patterns really stand out.  Cut about 1 1/2" off the bottom of the DSP and flip it over so you get to see both sides.

The Fresh Freesia strip behind the die cut is stamped with the small floral cluster all over.

Paper measurements:
  • Fresh Freesia:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Dandy Designs Designer series paper:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Basic White:  2" x 5 1/2", plus scrap to die cut thanks outline
  • Fresh Freesia:  1 7/8" x 5 1/2", plus scrap to die cut "thanks"
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp/punch flowers

Finish off with some Iridescent Rhinestones, and run the Clear Wink of Stella marker over the "thanks".

Stamps:  Country Bouquet bundle
Ink:  Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent
Paper:  Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Basic White, Dandy Designs designer series paper
Other:  Amazing Thanks dies, Clear Wink of Stella marker, Iridescent Rhinestones

Third project has a cute partial cut-out on the front.  Dandy Designs DSP is cut to 4" x 5 1/4", then cut the corner off with the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.  Stamp and hand-cut the floral heart and greeting.

Paper measurements for the Center Step cards:
  • Balmy Blue:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Dandy Designs designer series paper:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner for stamping/cutting out heart and greeting

Heart and greeting are popped up.  I also pounced my Clear Wink of Stella all over the heart/flowers/greenery.

Finish off with some more Iridescent Rhinestones.

Stamps:  Country Bouquet Bundle
Ink:  Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana
Paper:  Balmy Blue, Basic White, Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper
Other:  Iridescent Rhinestones, Clear Wink of Stella

The last project is called a Slash Pocket.  You build a pocket from a long piece of designer series paper, then fold a corner over.  I built some more flowers with the punch, and popped those up.  Colors came directly from this piece of designer series paper - Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink, and Calypso Coral.  They work well together!

Paper measurements:
  • Dandy Designs Designer series paper:  4" x 11", folded in half at 5 1/2"
  • Petal Pink:  3 3/4" x 5"
  • Basic White:  3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched to stamp/punch all the flower pieces
  • Basic White:  scrap to die-cut label from Seasonal Labels dies,.
Build/glue flowers together.  The smallest flower heart is popped up.  Finish off with Iridescent Rhinestones.

Stamps:  Country Bougquet bundle
Ink:  Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green
Paper:  Petal Pink, Basic White, Dandy Designs designer series papers
Other:  Seasonal Labels dies, Iridescent Rhinestones

I hope you enjoy these ideas.  Tune in next Thursday for a fun altered project.  I'll be working with a rolodex!
