Galentine's and Valentine's!

Happy Thursday Crafty Peeps!  I feel so accomplished getting this post published tonight!

Tonight's projects were about Galentine's and Valentine's.   A sweet card perfect for a friend, and then two different candy treats that will be loved by all the gals and guys in your life.  Don't have these papers or stamps?  Use what you have!

I also announced my Superbowl Squares Stampin' Style - be sure to check out my Facebook post for all the details.  Prizes are $100 Stampin' UP shopping sprees with me!  I cover the tax and shipping to get it to you (US Only, sorry!).

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

I started off with a Mini Slimline card featuring some of the Country Lane designer series papers.  I love those bikes.  The key was cutting those papers at about 2 1/4" x 6", so you get a line of flowers and bikes in each piece.

The sentiment from Country Bouquet has to be one of the best yet - I love that we are friends!  So perfect!  This card doesn't even have to be a Valentine.  Send this to a friend any time!

Sweet Sorbet piece is embossed with the Gingham folder.

Paper measurements:
  • Balmy Blue:  6" x 6", scored in half at 3"
  • Basic White:  2 3/4" x 5 3/4", for inside of card
  • Sweet Sorbet:  2 3/4" x 6", embossed with Gingham folder
  • Country Lane Designer Series paper:  2 1/4" x 6"
  • Balmy Blue and Basic White:  scraps to stamp/punch sentiment with Double Oval punch

Finished off with some of the Pastel Sequins from the Jan-Apr catalog, and Sweet Sorbet Metallic ribbon.

Stamps:  Country Bouquet
Ink:  Sweet Sorbet
Paper: Balmy Blue, Sweet Sorbet, Basic White, Country Lane Designer series paper
Other:  Double Oval punch, Sweet Sorbet Metallic ribbon, Pastel Sequins

Second project is a wrapped candy box.  I got them from Walmart, and they come in a variety of "critters".  I used designer series paper to wrap this box, just like a present.

Cut your DSP 9 1/2" x 9 1/2", and then use it like wrapping paper.  Then make a cluster or medallion to glue on top for your focal point.  I layered some circles, embossed one, added bits of ribbon to tie in some colors.  I encourage you to go through your designer series paper and make this a stash busting project.  Pull some pieces that you've forgotten about, or have had for so long...they need to move on.  :)

Stamped the owl on Shimmery White and colored in with some different shades of Stampin' Blends.  Stamp and hand-cut all the greetings.

Paper measurements:
  • Happy Forest Friends designer series paper:  9 1/2" x 9 1/2"
  • Sweet Sorbet:  enough to die cut the largest circle from Stylish Shapes, 2 smaller circles to layer (embossed one with the Hive folder)
  • Crumb Cake:  scrap to cut scallop circle from All That dies
  • Shimmery White:  scrap to stamp/hand cut owl
  • Basic White:  scraps to stamp/hand cut sentiments
Skip the ribbons if you want - add some sequins or dots if you want...doll yours up however you want!

Stamps:  Country Bouquet, Adorable Owls
Ink:  Sweet Sorbet, Early Espresso, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Sweet Sorbet, Crumb Cake, Basic White, Happy Forest Friends designer series paper
Other:  Stylish Shapes dies, Layering Circles dies, All That dies, Hive embossing folder, Sweet Sorbet Metallic 1/8" ribbon, Old Olive/Sahara Sand Twill ribbon combo, Stampin' Blends (neutrals, Parakeet Party, and Sweet Sorbet), Clear Wink of Stella brush marker

Third project is an altered candy box!  I made a video a couple of years ago, where I altered three different sizes of these candy heart boxes.  Check it out when you have time: https://youtu.be/YRHEXpoHu8c

This is a really easy project. Trace the top (and bottom if you want) on some designer series paper. Hand-cut it, and glue it on. Then tart it up with some images and words!

Paper measurements:
  • Tea Boutique Designer Series paper:  (2) 6" x 6", to trace and glue on front/back of box
  • Basic White:  1/2 a sheet to stamp and cut heart and greetings
  • Starry Sky:  a small scrap to punch out two different size hearts, one of which is embossed with the Cane Weave folder

Finish off with some In Color Enamel Dots all over, and some Wink of Stella on that smaller heart.

Stamps:  Country Bouquet
Ink:  Parakeet Party, Starry Sky
Paper:  Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper
Other:  Country Bouquet punch, heart punch (retired), Heart Candy box (Walmart), 2022-2024 In Color Enamel Dots, Clear Wink of Stella brush marker

I hope these projects inspire you to create a few treats for your people!  Have fun creating!
