August 2022 Online Class - Trees for Sale

Hi Crafty Friends! This post has all of the cards from BOTH class sessions. This online class is focused on the Trees for Sale stamp set, and Tree Lot dies. To be clear - you will need BOTH the stamps and the dies to make these projects. You will be doing your own die-cutting for all the trees, campers, lights, signs, etc.

You'll make (8) cards in this class, and you'll also get 2 BONUS project ideas in the class tutorial. It's a separate video and tutorial WITHIN the PDF tutorial.

Here are the cards -

Class packet is $42 and includes shipping . US only. I have a very limited number of extra dies that can be added to your class packet. Read all about it here.

I'm going to give paper measurements here on the blog, but will leave instructions to the video.   Step-by-step instructions are included in the PDF tutorial that comes with the class packet.

Let's look at the video and cards from Day 1 of class - click HERE if there is no video below.

First up is a monotone Garden Green card.  I've used two different embossing folders.  I love mixing the patterns together.

Paper measurements:
  • Garden Green:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Garden Green:  4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Timber folder
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Sweetest Christmas Designer Series paper/green print:  3" x 4"
  • Basic White:  scrap to cut largest hexagon from Stylish Shapes dies, embossed with Brick & Mortar embossing folder
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp and cut all your trees and greeting
Second card is a non-traditional color card with a Side Flip!  Sometimes this will be called a tip-in.  I think it's a cool design.  We're using Blushing Bride here.  These trees are stamped off once for the solid tree images, then stamp full strength for the branches overlay.

See the side-flip.  I added a piece of Basic White to the inside for more writing area.  You could add a picture, or just leave it.
Paper measurements:
  • Blushing Bride:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Cottage Gingham Designer Series paper/Blushing Bride:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Blushing Bride:  3 1/2" x 4", scored at 3 1/2"
  • Blushing Bride:  3 1/4" x 3 1/4", embossed with Whimsical Woodland folder
  • Basic White:  3 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp and cut all your trees and greeting
For the third card, I wanted more of a general purpose outdoorsy card. Lots of texture and more trees!

Paper measurements:
  • Soft Suede:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Soft Suede:  4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Tree Rings folder, then scrape the edges with my fingernail
  • Very Vanilla:  4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Early Espresso:  1 1/2" x 5", die-cut tree poles
  • Very Vanilla:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp and cut all your trees and greeting
The last card for Day 1 is literally a Starry Sky background. I ink blended Starry Sky, Parakeet Party, and Gorgeous Grape on the Shimmery White cardstock to make this gorgeous nighttime scene.

Paper measurements:
  • Starry Sky:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (2 pieces, one for inside of card, one to layer)
  • Shimmery White:  3 3/4" x 5", ink blend your background
  • Basic White:  3/4" x 5", to stamp/cut greeting
  • Silver Foil:  2" x 3", to die cut camper

First card of Day 2 is another non-traditional holiday color card, and an interesting tri-fold.  Each side panel has a different embossed layer.  Whimsical Woodlands and Bricke & Mortar.  Mix them up!!!  Die cut trees out of Basic White, and add Wink of Stella to the overlay diecuts.  Greeting is from Go To Greetings.

Paper measurements:
  • Fresh Freesia: 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 3 3/8", 7 5/8"
  • Fresh Freesia:  3 1/8" x 5 1/4" (2 pieces, embossed with Whimsical Woodlands and Brick & Mortar folders)
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Fresh Freesia & Basic White:  3 1/2" x 3 1/2", cut with Layering Circles dies - scallop and circle
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp and cut all your trees and greeting
Here's a look at the inside:

Card 2 from Day 2 is a Bridge-fold card.  I like these and the really aren't as hard as you might think.  I think it's just the scoring and how you attach the "bridge" that might seem tricky.

Paper measurements:
  • Evening Evergreen:  4 1/4" x 8", scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 3/4"
  • Boughs of Holly Designer Series paper:  1" x 4" (4 pieces)
  • Mossy Meadow:  2 3/4" x 4"
  • Basic White:  2 1/2" x 3 3/4"
  • Basic White:  2" x 3", die cut camper
  • Evening Evergreen:  1 1/4" x 2 1/2", die cut camper top/bottom panels
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp/die cut trees
Third card is a Mini Slim line.  Finished size of my Mini Slims is 3" x 6".  Stamp a tree line near the top half of the card, in Mint Macaron for a tone-on-tone effect.  Cut a 3" x 6" piece of the Silver dotted SAB papers to make your snowy hills.  I ink blended the edges with Mint Macaron.  Everything else is pretty straight forward - stamp the dog, tree, stand, sign and die-cut.  Camper is cut from Basic White and Petal Pink.

Paper measurements:
  • Mint Macaron:  6" x 6".  Scored and folded at 3"
  • Silver Dots/White (SAB papers):  3" x 6"
  • Basic White:  2 3/4" x 5 3/4" (for inside of card)
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp/cut out all your images and the camper
  • Petal Pink:  1 1/4" x 2 1/2", to die-cut camper bits
The last one is a Rocker Card!!!  These are so fun, and I'm happy to share this card.  I love the Real Red, Sweet Sorbet and Garden Green together.  Those colors come directly from the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series papers!

Paper measurements:
  • Real Red:  approximately 5 3/8" circle
  • Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper:  approximately 5 1/8" circle
  • Basic White:  approximately 5 1/8" circle, cut in half (for inside of rocker card)
  • Garden Green:  approximately 3 7/8" circle
  • Sweet Sorbet:  approximately 3 1/4" circle, embossed with Whimsical Woodland folder
  • Basic White & Garden Green:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to cut out camper, greeting, and trees, and wreath
  • Sweet Sorbet:  1 1/4" x 2 1/2", to die-cut camper bits and bow for the wreath
