Hello Crafty Friends!
I shared my June Virtual Workshop this week, and I really enjoyed all these leaves! I wanted to use this bundle, because I haven't spent any time with it yet, and time is running out to get it. The Artfully Layered stamps and dies are NOT carrying over into the Annual Catalog, so get them by 6/30/2022 if you want them. Right now - the DIES are on sale...so don't order using the Bundle item number. Order the stamps and dies separately. It's a little bit cheaper.
Keep in mind that you can use ANY stamps that you already own to duplicate these projects.
Most of the products I ended up using tonight are currently ON SALE in the Last Chance promotion. Check out what is available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST through 6/30/2022. There is also a Buy One Get One 50% Off promotion going on, on the Kits Collections. Check it out!
Just a reminder that I am Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
First up, I used the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative. which are ON SALE now. If you watch the video, you'll see that I messed this card up in the beginning. I saved it by white-embossing this leaf on Pool Party, die-cutting it and popping it up on the card front.
If you're making this at home, you'll want to use a stencil and Pool Party ink first. I wanted more of a circle of color, but I went a little crazy with the ink blending. Oops!
Paper Measurements:
- Pool Party: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of the card)
- Pool Party: scrap to stamp and die cut leaf
The leaf is the only thing popped up on the card. Finish off with Glossy Dots.
Stamps: Artfully Layered
Ink: Pool Party, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper: Pool Party, Basic White
Other: Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks, Basic embossing powders (White), Glossy Dots Assortment
Next, I went with an oldie, but goodie technique - Joseph's Coat. You start with a piece of Basic White, and completely cover it in colors. I used sponge daubers to apply all green colors on this one. COMPLETELY cover it. I started with the lightest ink colors and worked my way to the darkest. I had to let that dry, because all that ink will take a bit to dry out. You don't want the embossing powder to stick everywhere.
When your ink-covered layer is completely dry, stamp some images in Versamark ink and emboss with Clear embossing powder. I always stamp my larger images first, then fill in with the medium, then smallest stamps.
After you clear-emboss everything, take a dark ink color and I smashed my ink pad directly on the embossed piece. This is where Stampin' Up's foam pads come in handy. I used Early Espresso. Cover that layer completely, then wipe off the excess with a paper towel. The ink will pool up on top of the clear embossed parts, so you need to wipe it off. I give the whole layer a good buff.
Paper measurements:
- Mossy Meadow: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 3 1/4" x 5 1/2"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
- Garden Green and Mossy Meadow: 2 1/2" and 2 1/4" circles
- Basic White: 2" circle, to stamp greeting on.
I stamped some of the leaf images on the left side of the Mossy Meadow card base, using Versamark ink. You get that tone-on-tone effect.
Before I glued the Joseph's Coat layer down, I added some Early Espresso Faux Suede trim behind it. Secured it with Sticky Strip (red line tape), and then glued the entire thing do the card front.
Greeting is layered and popped up. To finish this card, I colored some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. All that green...I love it!
Stamps: Artfully Layered
Ink: Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green, Soft Succulent, Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Early Espresso
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Basic White
Other: 2", 2 1/4", and 2 1/2" circle punches, Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede ribbon, Basic embossing powders (Clear)
For the third card, I showed you how to make your own designer series paper (since I did not buy the pack that went with this bundle). Just choose a few colors and stamp your images all over. I wanted to add some Copper embossing powder around the edges too. Leave that off if it's too much for you. I'll admit, I was a little heavy-handed with the Versamark ink around the corners/edges.
- Early Espresso: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4" (2 pieces, one to stamp, one for the inside)
- Early Espresso: scrap to die cut leaf
I die cut one of the leaves, so that I could emboss the greeting on it. Finish off with some more of the Glossy Dots. I used the Daffodil Delight dots on this card.
Change the ink colors here for a completely different look to this card!
Stamps: Artfully Layered
Ink: Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Other: Glossy Dots Assortment, Metallic embossing powders (Copper)
Last card is probably my favorite. I love a white-on-white or vanilla-on-vanilla card. The whites that I've used for this one all have slightly different shades, which makes it more interesting. Basic White, Mother of Pearl, and Shimmery White. These pops of green really stand out!
I took a 3" x 4" piece of the Mother of Pearl paper (on sale now!), and embossed with the new Fern embossing folder. I also added texture to the Basic White layer with the Timeworn Type embossing folder. Mix and match your embossing folders! I think it adds more interest.
Everything is layered on the card front flat, except for the greeting. I MEANT to use the Round & Square Brads on this card - to add more white circles....but I forgot and used rhinestones. :(
Paper measurements:
- Basic White Thick: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Timeworn Type folder
- Mother of Pearl: 3" x 4", embossed with Fern folder
- Shimmery White: scraps cut with Picture This dies (you'll get two different size pieces in your make-n-take kit)
- Parakeet Party and Shaded Spruce: scraps to die cut leaves
Stamps: Artfully Layered bundle
Ink: Shaded Spruce
Paper: Parakeet Party, Shaded Spruce, Basic White (Thick and Regular), Mother of Pearl, Shimmery White
Other: Picture This dies, Fern and Timeworn Type embossing folders, Rhinestone Basic jewels
I hope you enjoyed these ideas for the Artfully Layered bundle. If you don't have this particular set, you could certainly use something else. I'd love to see you creations over in Toni's Stamping & Sharing Group on Facebook (link below).
How about some MORE ideas for this set! I made these cards during an event with my friend Jeannette. She put some great make-n-takes together for us! The top left card is actually a swap from my friend Rose. She used a mask to get those ombre dots on the background. Love it!
And then we made one more card, but I don't know the name of it. It's some kind of fun fold with a belly band to hold it all together. This one is VERY heavy and bulky and will need extra postage.
Be sure to check all the details about my Workshop of the Month for ordering and FREEBIE info.
One last thing to note - I will NOT be live this Thursday. My mom's surgery has been moved to Wednesday and I'll be with her.
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
