Picture This! These dies make for some great projects!

Happy Thursday Friends!

In tonight's video, I shared some card ideas using the Picture This dies.  I think these dies stand on their own, and work with just about any project theme.  I hope you enjoy what I've created for you!

Just a reminder that I am Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

For the first project, I brought out my current favorite Cactus Cuties set.  The rectangle dies make the perfect shelves or windowsills to sit some plants on.  I was going to use Cajun Craze, but I changed my mind and went with Sahara Sand.  I wanted more of a stone look for the wall.

Paper Measurements:
  • Sahara Sand: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
  • Sahara Sand:  4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Brick & Mortar folder AFTER you cut it with the Picture This dies
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Basic White:  3 13/16" x 5 1/16", behind the embossed Sahara Sand layer
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp/cut cactus plants, planters, greeting
Color the Basic White in with a light shade of blue Stampin' blend, so it looks like a window.  Plants are popped up.

Stamps:  Cactus Cuties bundle
Ink:  Old Olive, Parakeet Party, Pear Pizzazz, Starry Sky, Tahitian Tide, Early Espresso, Soft Suede
Paper:  Sahara Sand, Basic White
Other:  Picture This dies, Cactus builder punch, Brick & Mortar embossing folder, Balmy Blue Light Stampin' Blend marker, Pebbles Enamel Dots

Next card uses the rectangle Picture This dies, to make an interesting background piece.  Cut the piece of Happy Forest Friends Designer Series paper with the die, then flip over the cut-out pieces to the other side of the paper.  I glued the outer piece of dsp (the more coral one) down flat to the Sahara Sand.  Pop up the mushroom panels up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Paper measurements:
  • Calypso Coral:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored in half at 4 1/4"
  • Sahara Sand:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Happy Forest Friends Designer series paper:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8", plus scraps to cut out some mushrooms
  • Shimmery White:  scrap for greeting, cut with Tailored Tags dies

Greeting is glued to the raised panels, and then the mushrooms are popped up.  Added some baker's twine to the tag too.  Finished with a bunch of Classic Matte Dots.

Stamps:  Inspired Thoughts
Ink:  Soft Suede
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Sahara Sand, Basic White, Happy Forest Friends Designer series paper
Other:  Picture This dies, Early Espresso Faux Suede ribbon

For the third card, we are switching to the circles die.  I haven't used this Party Puffins set nearly enough and I thought they would look cute peeking through the "windows".  The Butterfly Kisses DSP is layered on top of the Parakeet Party, and cut with the die so it goes through both layers at the same time.  I eventually attached the Fresh Freesia to the back of the Parakeet Party, but just added glue around the edge so that I could slide puffins down in the circle cut-outs.

Paper measurements:
  • Starry Sky:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Parakeet Party:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Butterfly Kisses Designer series paper:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Basic White:  3 3/4" x 5"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Basic White:  scrap to stamp/cut out puffins
I finished this one with Wink of Stella all over the puffins and cake.

Stamps:  Party Puffins
Ink:  Onyx Versafine
Paper:  Starry Sky, Parakeet Party, Basic White, Butterfly Kisses designer series papere
Other:  Picture This dies, Stampin' Blends - All 2022-2024 In Colors, Clear Wink of Stella

For the last card, I'm going back another current favorite - Seas the Day.  I'm still bummed that this set did not get added to the new Annual Catalog.  That just means it's only available through June 30, 2022 - so get it while you can!

Bermuday Bay and Coastal Cabana are good ocean colors in my book, and I paired them with some of the Pretty Prints Designer Series paper and Pacific Point.

Paper measurements:
  • Bermuda Bay:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Pretty Prints Designer Series paper:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Coastal Cabana:  3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Basic White:  maybe 1/2 a sheet to stamp and die cut all of the sea critters, and punch out that greeting.
Finish this card off with some Faux Sea Glass bits!

Stamps:  Seas the Day bundle
Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point
Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Pretty Prints designer series paper
Other:  Sea dies, Picture This dies, Clear Wink of Stella marker,  Faux Sea Glass bits

I hope I've given you some inspiration for using these dies, or maybe got you thinking about what you can use from your stash to create these cards.

Next week, I'll be creating a set of Slimline cards AND a box to hold a few of them!
