This is my sixth creation for the Craft Roulette Challenge. Mary Gunn Funn runs Craft Roulette - it's a weekly crafting show on YouTube now, every Friday evening. Check her out, and jump in if you can participate!
I created this card for Episode #74.
The parameters were:
- Project: FUNN Fold
- Colors: from your patterned paper
- Element: Maps
- Random: Stencil AND/OR watercolor or ink - this was new this week...two spins for Random, so we get the option to use one or both. I like it!
For my FUNN fold project parameter, I went with a Book Binding fold card. This is a neat look. The left hand side is scored, and taped down. Then I added a strip of the patterned paper, punched two holes and tied in some Linen Thread.
This particular roll of Linen Thread was very thick - so I let it dangle and tied knots, so it's kind of like rope.
Paper measurements:
- Misty Moonlight: 4 1/4" x 11". Scored at 4 1/4", and then 5 1/2".
- Misty Moonlight: 4 1/8" x 4 1/8"
- Cajun Craze: 4" x 4"
- World of Good Specialty Papers: 3 7/8" x 3 7/8 (MAP print), 7/8" x 4 1/8" (compass print)
- Basic White: 2" x 3 3/8"
- Misty Moonlight: 2 1/8" x 3 1/2"
- Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight: scraps to stamp/hand-cut "thanks"
- Basic White: 4" x 4" (for inside of card)
- World of Good Specialty Papers: 1 5/8" x 3 7/8" - it was the left over bits from when I cut the front panel...probably a little too wide, but it's done.
For the Random parameter, I stamped the lighthouse in black ink, and then used Night of Navy and Cinnamon Cider inks to watercolor the image. I did not use watercolor paper, so the effect is not the same. I often watercolor on regular white or vanilla card stock. I like it the look of it.
Here's a picture of the card open, looking down - you can really see the book binding on the left side.
Craft Roulette is fun to watch, and it's really great to see everyone's submissions the following week. There are always so many different interpretations of the parameters. FUNN!!!
